Local TV news says a senior officer was shot and killed by an enlisted soldier. Then the soldier turned gun on himself and committed suicide.

A senior officer in the 525th Battlefield Surveillance Battalion was shot and killed by an enlisteed Soldier of the battalion during a safet y brief. The shooter turned the weapon on himself and attempted to committ suicide. He was unsuccessful and was in custody as of 1800 yesterday.

I just found out that the victim in this case was my CO back in Ft Polk 2001-2003.

RIP LTC Roy Tisdale.
