And a 401K is NOT a real pension.
Huh--when my 401(k) balance that I've contributed to for barely a decade is about 1/2 the percentage ripped from my paychek for SS, and when I retire, assuming I live 15 years (that's age 80, DUmmies) I'll still pull more than double the monthly amount from my 401(k) than I will if I get SS at age 65, assuming that's even still around when I retire.
IOW, DUmmies, my 401(k) balance is currently MORE than what I'll get in SS benefits for 15 years if I retire at 65, according to their own numbers. And I have at least 20 more years to contribute. So anyone who says a 401(k) isn't a real pension is 1--full of shit, 2--dumber than a bag of ****ing hammers.
My home equity, cash balance, 401(k), and insurance payoff are my retirement. SS, if I get it? Beer and poker money, maybe.
