My family, my friends, and me, we'd go to the polls on our knees on a glass-filled road to get to the polls.
There was--I surely hope she's not syndicated any more--a columnist from Rhode Island, Froma Harrop, who whined in a column shortly after the election of November 2000, that Republicans are "too conscientious" about voting, and that she wished we'd go to the grocery story or tennis court or something, forgetting to vote.
I was astounded. That column appeared in the
Omaha World-Herald, and I repeat myself, I hope to God she isn't syndicated any more; I haven't seen her for years now.
