12. Well, they get banned when they admit it. We just banned one tonight:
Well, that's not very tolerant of Skinner, now is it?
SKINNER IS A BIGOT!
I'm sure he'll inform everyone that some of his best friends are .....White, black, conservative, christian, muslim, joooooish, rich, poor, homeless, uneducated, educated, etc. etc.....just to prove to us that he is not a bigot.
So what, we all have friends from all sides of life, these are individual friends that except us, and we become their token friend also.
As long as the Friend has the same views as us to our face, all is find and dandy.
Bigots come in when they refuse to associate with others except in Business or Church dealings.
Experience,--------- MIL came to visit and a neighbor of another race and I were eating lunch together. We went shopping together, the kids played together, we often baby sat for each other. Just a friend I trusted my children to and she trusted her kids with.
Some nights when both Hubby's had the duty we would stay up all night playing cards and drinking beer, and talking girl talk.
So after MIL refused to join us at the table my friend went home. MIL then demanded to know how we could afford a MAID. Hell of a argument resulted and by golly I chose my friend over Hubby's mother.
It was the friend I cared about, nothing to do with race or religion, social background, just we hit it off.
MIL went on a rampage, called my Hubby 2-3 times a day to warn him about how I was endangering his kids, her grandchildren by my encouraging the kids to socialise with the wrong elements. Now she was a bigot, and I did not want my kids around her anymore then she wanted to be around me.
All was solved by us being transferred to the East coast. I put my kids in Catholic school so they could experience all cultures as they grew up, and go into Adult hood color blind. It worked !!!!
Bigots are everywere, they may help raise money to help out orphanages in Africa but the only person of color to come into their home is a servant or a business partner and that only for company business. And this works both ways, bigots are not just white, all cultures have them.
Bigots miss out on life time friends, the Joy of experiencing food, clothing and traditions of others.
