Maurice Sendak was gay.

Somehow, the eulogies I've come across have ignored that or buried it deep, passing over it quickly so no one would notice.

The New York Times gave lavish attention to Mr. Sendak's birth family, but buried the mention of his partner to one line beneath a paragraph describing Mr. Sendak as a solitary individual.

We remember Mr. Sendak because of his art, his gifts to us. But to ignore this aspect of his life is to insult the man.

Maurice Sendak was gay, and he loved a man for many years. We need to treat those facts with respect.



Maybe it wasn't trumpeted from the highest mountain because it was something about him, not the ONLY thing about him.


Something about liberals forces them to take certain facts about people - gayness, skin color, ethnicity - and make them the central defining characteristic.

Oh, wait - they do that for political reasons. Sorry, nothing new to see here. Let's all genuflect to Sendak's corpse, because he was gay.

The only part of this man's life that I was concerned with / respected is the fact that "Where the Wild Things Are" was one of my favorite childhood stories.  I could have lived the rest of my life not knowing he was a rump ranger and could care less now that I do know.

Maybe the newspapers didn't harp on whether or not Mr Sendak was a pitcher or catcher because it wasn't his faggotry that made him famous.  Maybe they didn't bring it up because not everyone tries to make something about being queer.  Maybe they realize most of their readership does not regard deviant behavior as something that should be respected.  Did that ever occur to you, DUmbass?

Damn, but I hate bitchy homos that make everything a "gay" thing.

How about that.  Despite all of your success and accomplishments, when you die some liberal is just going to stick you in one of their neat little pigeonholes.

Mr. JohnnyReb passed away after a short illness. He was twice married to two different women and enjoyed screwing several more while between marriages. He also enjoyed a few porno movies early in life but in later life liked the real thing more. He died thinking of sex since he was sick and couldn't actually do anything about his desires....although he would ask the nurse to take a little longer in some areas when being sponge bathed.

What is it with liberals and their pidgenholes?  I don't get it.  Does it make it easy/lazy for them to analyze & explain behavior?  I remember some DUmmie saying "He said that??  That makes no sense!  He's part of the 99%!"  It's especially offensive when they do it according to ethnicity.  As if black/brown/yellow/red people aren't individuals at all.
