I am not sure the Democratic Party understands the amount of anger today
Anger at the bigotry that still exists in America
Anger at the number of so-called Democrats that either didn't vote at all, or voted yes on Amendment 1
Anger at the lack of leadership by President Obama on the Civil Rights issue of our generation
Anger at the dismissal of our concerns

Do you understand you lost a referendum by 20+ points?

Do you understand you lose everytime this issue is placed before the electorate?

**** you money.

The money from sources that contribute millions would appear to rent a certain "sympathy" for the cause of the donor.
We are just here for votes, not to please with representative governance.

Expect them to shine you on more and more until November, then it will be bi-partisan deals to please the top donors.

After all, they already have our vote and they will owe much "sympathy" to superpack and other large money donors that deserve their sympathy more having put a down payment on it and all.

What are we going to do. vote for Romney?

5. They know we don't have another choice

Being realistic, what are we going to do? Vote Republican?

I hope someday, one day we will have another choice, but like it or not every time we have had a 3rd party candidate it has helped the other worst of the two evils get into office (from the 3rd parties point of view).

Hey, did you hear?

Dick Lugar (which sounds like a German gay porn actor's name) had his ass handed to him last night.

Next time you're hanging around the drum circle at Zucotti park you might want to propose an exploratory committee to discern why.

See if you can avoid the words "bigot" "banks" and "fascism" if you want to make any real progress.

Their angst makes my day........

Do we require any more evidence that a tiny minority of Americans (roughly 3%) who are "homosexual"  are capable of raising a din of such a decibel level that it drowns out discussion of every meaningful issue at stake today.

Just like AIDS was falsely (and just as loudly) portrayed as a national pandemic of biblical proportions......sheer propaganda.....

Judging from the deafening level of emotional screeching, and rending of garments over this NC vote, one would think that SCOTUS just declared free healthcare unconstitutional.........

For all of your bitching and moaning, DUmmies, you know damn good and well on election day you're going to take your black-eyed, swollen lipped, lumped-up heads, and bruised arms and pull the "D" lever like the good, battered little whores you are.  Maybe this time, in 2012, they'll really "love" you.

Money has no influence on how people voted on this issue.  This is a visceral response from people both religious and non-religious that are against homos.

At least they're admitting that some Democrats voted for Amendment 1.  Now, if they could finally come out and admit what's been painfully obvious to everyone who watches them hurl around the "tea bagger" epithet: they don't really like gays, either.

That's one reason why Obummer didn't want to commit on the issue.  There are certain parts of the Dumocrat party that are not really fond of homosexuals.

Now the DUmp has me confused.
42% of them voted for a burglar in West Virgina, and now a whole passel oppose a turd-burglar in NC.  :???:
Are they for or against burglars? At least one burglar came from behind.

And it looks like Obama just now dropped the soap.

0bama has consistently been for anything that the American citizenry is 60%+ against.

Every. Single. Time.

BTW Obama the dog eater was for gay marriage in 1996. So his position has not evolved, he has just quit lying about his position.

Yeah, I heard about that before. I wonder if he would have done this if the amendment went the other way. Either way, the convention is going to be a lot more interesting, and there's been petitions (mostly online) for moving the convention after what happened yesterday. Just imagine the chaos if they actually do move it...

But they won't, of course.

Actually, if NC shot down A1 Obama would have made the same position announcement/ceased lying and it would actually have been easier for him. He-Who-Killed-Osama-in-Singular-Combat could then claim political cover and hoped this was trending nationally.

Now he can't.

His base forced him into this announcement at the cost of his broader appeal.

Now he can no longer play middle roader.

That means he will have to go balls deep into the identity politics.

The campign will only get nastier from here on out.

Oh, will it!  The thing is, not only will black Christians either not vote or vote one way while telling the world that they voted the other, but Hispanics are rather Catholic.  Catholics are opposed to gay marriage.  Therefore, the Hispanic Catholics that vote would have to be voting against their best religious interests to vote Dem, and a lot more of them take Catholicism more seriously than the "cafeteria"-style Catholics that are so prevalent in the US today.

Angry opponents of N.C. amendment call for moving Democratic convention from Charlotte
Last edited Wed May 9, 2012, 12:37 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

Source: Charlotte Observer

North Carolina voters have spoken. Now it’s other people’s turn. And, around the country, many of them are so mad at Tuesday’s results on Amendment One that they’re calling for the Democratic National Convention to be yanked out of Charlotte.

By 1:15 p.m., nearly 20,000 people had signed a “move the convention” petition that was launched on change.org by the New York-based Gay Marriage USA.

And Twitter is filled with similar sentiment from angry supporters of same-sex marriage.

“As an LGBT Democrat married in Iowa, I wouldn’t set foot in North Carolina,” tweeted David S. Shafer.

Marc St. Jacques tweeted: “Move the Convention out of North Carolina, don’t spend any monies in this retrograde state.”

No one expects the Democrats to move the September convention out of Charlotte – where the Amendment lost.

Progressive forces are petitioning the Democratic Party to move its convention out of North Carolina in protest of the state’s recently enacted ban on gay marriage.

“In protest, the Democratic National Convention Committee should MOVE its convention (September 2012) to a state that upholds values of equality & liberty, and which treats ALL citizens equally,” the petition states.

Initiated by Gay Marriage USA, a gay rights advocacy group, the petition has already attracted 14,946 signatures on its way to an anticipated 20,000.
