Junior Seau Dead Cops Suspect Suicide
« on: May 02, 2012, 01:20:49 PM »
NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and a law enforcement source at the scene tells us cops believe he shot himself.

Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife. http://www.tmz.com/2012/05/02/junior-seau-dead/#.T6F7OcXrSSo

Oh my...this is very sad.

I knew he had some mental health issues a couple years ago...but I thought he was doing better.

The 43-year-old linebacking legend shot himself in the chest inside his beachfront home in Oceeanside, Fox 5 San Diego confirmed. Fox Sports confirmed the death with Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood, who said he was told by the city's police chief.

Damn. I've known about this since I was in the Augusta airport, but it still seems unreal. Everyone loved Seau. This is like losing Earnhardt. Don't watch NASCAR, but he was one of the greats. Junior's mother was a mess. pray for her.

I suspect the concussions he has gotten contributed to his suicide. The worst form of grief is a parent having to bury a child no matter the age.

I almost posted my expectation of that coming up when I was here earlier.  Then while I was out and about I heard Rush mention it. It was just mentioned on the three o'clock news as a possible motive.   Now I find your post.

If we just ban full contact football and switch to flag football the fairer sex can fully participate too.    :sarcasm:

'course I got a wicked concussion when I was catching, flipped off the mask to look for a foul  tip and got caught by the batter on the back swing.  Guess we better ban baseball too.  And what about 'heading' in soccer?  Any problem with that?  Ban it.

Now we can all head off to namby pampy land, fat, dumb and happy. :thatsright:

Dave Duerson of the Bears committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest.  His death instructions indicated that he wanted his brain donated to medical research because he thought the game may have knocked a few marbles loose.  Sorry to be graphic, but it is a horrific thing to contemplate for those who gave their life for the game.

RIP Junior and may God's rest be upon your family.

I don't think he said that in his post.   His problems could very well stem from concussions.   Why is that wrong to state the obvious?

No he didn't but then I didn't say he did (although it may seem that I implied that with the italics and sarcastic tag).  It appears the latest bugaboo of the NFL is concussions.  There may be something to that line of thought.  I have no training in the field so will have to wait until all the facts are in.
