Gang, I've been away, so I couldn't post this earlier.  What if he's just waiting for us to lay off a bit . . . then has his "big announcement?"  Sandbagging us, as it were, thus allowing an iota of good press to get out before we slam the door shut?

I suspect he's given up, what with his Democrat union buddy at Goldrenrod Printing in Lincoln always telephoning him asking him to pay the damned bill for those yard-signs.

I didn't see any yard signs out for OmahaSteve in ward 1. I travelled along Mission Ave to get to Offutt AFB. There were plenty of signs for other candidates but none for him.

They're still at Goldenrod Printing down in Lincoln.

His Democrat-union buddy who owns the business is holding them "cash on delivery," or payment upon delivery, or something like that.

The big guy misunderestimated how many bucks would flow in from other pockets.

I think that was a mistake last autumn, when the big guy and Marta bought that supersized superdeluxe television set, which probably would cover at least a part of the printing expenses.

The big guy had already decided to run when that purchase was made.

I can still see it; Marta reminding him, "But dear, we have to save money for your campaign--remember, nobody's going to invest in you until you invest in yourself first."

And then the big guy; "Not to worry, dear; my 100,000 friends on Skins's island will pay the printing bill."

I expect the campaign signs the morning of May 16 are headed to the recycle bin.

It will get even more exciting once Steve learns that coach killed his campaign just like he killed Andy, by forcing himself into the mailroom and interfering with the payments - thus causing his yard sign printing to be delayed until it was too late for them to do any good.

Because that's what coach does. Bank it.
