2. "What would be the reason for putting it in in the first place?"

What a dumbass question. I guess the misogynist asking it thinks it's OK that women are paid less. Jeeeze.

Labor group's pro-Falk TV ads vanish

Quote
Public employee unions had everything lined up.

Their nemesis, Gov. Scott Walker, was facing an unprecedented recall election. Their hand-picked candidate, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, came out of the blocks running. Their front group was set to spend millions to help push Falk over the top.

So what went wrong?

Wisconsin for Falk, a coalition of labor groups, has spent an estimated $3 million on statewide TV ads and multiple slick fliers touting Falk's candidacy - all without seeing her gain traction against the Democratic front-runner, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

The most recent public and private polls show Barrett with a double-digit lead.

Then Wisconsin for Falk took the most unexpected step in the race so far.

In the middle of last week - with the primary just over two weeks away - the group went dark. It had no TV spots running anywhere in the state for days, just as talk spread of dissension in the labor community.

To top it off, Walker then said on a Milwaukee radio show what many Democrats and Republicans have concluded: Falk is clearly the weaker of the two top Democrats.

"The unions totally underestimated Barrett in this race," said Brian Nemoir, a Republican political consultant not involved in the recall election. "I've seen nothing that bodes well for Falk or her supporters."

But some labor leaders are vowing to fight to the end.

They say there is still time to change the momentum in the race.

Now this is interesting, the Unions poured all this money into Wisconsin and their candidate, but the guy who's leading, Tom Barrett, tried to weaken Unions in Milwaukee. So how are the Unions going to support this guy that they tried to smear by circulating an edited video?

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, one of two top Democrats running to unseat Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in a recall election driven by battles over labor union rights, also sought to scale back collective bargaining power in a confidential proposal obtained by BuzzFeed.

Barrett is facing former Dane County Executive and labor favorite Kathleen Falk in a Democratic Primary May 9. The February, 2011 proposal obtained by BuzzFeed helps explain why labor has sided against Barrett: Floated amid the battles in Madison, Barrett's plan would have limited collective bargaining rights on health insurance, overtime hours, and pension for unionized city workers.

Though Falk and Barrett have sought to keep their focus on Walker and avoid primary fratricide, some of the state's labor unions have been less subtle. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees spurred controversy by circulating an edited video from an interview Barrett gave to a conservative radio host in a way that suggested that he backed Walker's bill. AFSCME later walked back the video, calling it "over the top." Barrett supported some parts of the bill at the time, in particular provisions that required public employees to pay more for health insurance and pensions.

Just added the link now, sorry. Not a big campfire though at all.

I predict Walker is going to keep his job, and the DUmp will meltdown, it will be a preview of the upcoming November election when Stevie Dawes loses and some guy in DC named Barry loses too.  :-)

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

If Barrett becomes the Dem nominee how is DU going to support him though?

You don't understand DUmmies if you need to ask that question.  :-)

They hate Walker with a burning passion, they would support damn near anyone just as long as Walker gets shown the door and someone with a D next to their name gets in. They don't care a bit about the issues.

For Socialist Steve Dawes to lose in November, he will have to finish first or second, in a field of four, in the primary election on May 15.

Socialist Steve has been a candidate before, and has an unbroken record of finishing last, regardless the number of people in the race.

Despite the turnout of six relatives at the Big Bear's Bar Blowout, Socialist Steve's prospects for appearing on the November ballot are very bleak.

But, who know, maybe every democrat, socialist, communist, deadbeat, ex-felon, atheist, sexual pervert in Nebraska lives in Ward 1.

If that's the case, the big guy might finish second.

So they're going to support a person who wasn't endorsed by the Union, and who wanted to do basically what Scott Walker has done?

This  becomes this

There will be some mumbling and grumbling about it, but in the end the goal is to teach Walker a lesson and kick him out. Every last one of them will support him in the end.

Bullseye.

This is rather tasty watching this whole thing play out. The fisters have been doing what they do best since last Feb- protesting, vandalizing, walking off the job and abandoning the children(illegally, I might add- teacher sick-outs), and otherwise carrying on like goons. Deep in their utopic bliss they deeply felt the good people of Wisconsin had seen the evil ways of Gov Walker and would rally to support their cause.

Now after more than a year of their bullshit, which included failed efforts at getting a union stiff elected to the State Supreme Court, and attempts to gain control of the State Senate via recalls, this chapter of the saga is coming to an end.

Even with those failures they refused to accept the writings on the wall. They pushed on, backed with copious sums of cash from out-of-state unions and interests. They got the sigs for the recall of their true target of hate- Walker.

Now, however, the tactics the fisters put on display as their true talents for the past umpteen months are useless. They're coming down off their high their rallying and carrying-on has had them on. It's in the hands of the voters now. They're getting a sober glimpse at where the good and decent people of Wisconsin stand, which is behind our great Governor. All their buffoonery helped them zilch.

That is the reason for this panic. The fisters are beginning to crack at the thought of Walker winning the recall.

While still in a smoky haze a couple months ago, they were having visions of Walker losing in a landslide to just about anyone. So, the bosses trotted trough candidate after candidate to see which one would sell out to the union strongest, which wound up to be Falk. So, that's who the unions got behind early.

Now they're coming to and evaluating poll numbers. The numbers don't look too good for the lib from Dane Co. They don't look all that great for Barrett either, but the lefty rage is off the charts when it comes to Walker. If it means that even big labor gets thrown under the bus for a couple points upward in the polls, you better believe it's going to happen. Big labor doesn't want the underside of a bus, so expect Falk under there very soon.
