I got addicted to Karin Slaughter's novels (no I'm not her, plugging my own stuff  :-))   Very suspenseful, often shocking.  A whodunit to the end.  Some names:  Tryptique, Broken, Shattered.  All one-word title, I think.  You can often find them at Walmart.
