I had two interviews this week...
« on: April 10, 2012, 04:13:04 PM »
and I wasn't asked for my Facebook password in either one...

:)

BTW...both interviews went very well. One was a phone screen with a local aerospace company, the other was with a company that builds HUGE transformers for generators and power plants. Both interviews were for Quality Inspectors. Wish me luck...I can't afford to work at Waffle House much longer...

Good luck, Dixie!

When should you know something about the job(s)?

They both said their target dates for hiring someone was late May/ early June...so I expect it to be a while. I hate that my last job didn't end under good circumstances, that's kinda hard to handle in an interview. But I'm honest with them...I have 15 years at one company before my last job, so that says something about me, I hope.

Congrats, Dixie. If that aerospace company is the one I'm thinking of, they make some quality stuff. ;-)

BTW, that shows you how anti-South, condescending pricks northern and western liberals can be. When Boeing was building in SC, they assumed we didn't have an intelligent enough workforce down south. One of the most popular, and best-built private jet companies, Gulfstream (Rush will say they are the best), builds their jets right south of Charleston in Savannah.

Yeah..I know several people who work there....

They used to call Great Dane Trailers "Gulfstream's Training Ground". Dozens of people I worked with left Great Dane to go to Gulfstream.

Chances are that I will be appraising your work, at some point.  I appraise utility properties, and substations are a big amount of my work.  The generation side, not so much.
