A few questions for DU
« on: April 06, 2012, 10:55:22 PM »
Please answer these questions that I've been wondering about for the last couple of days. You can answer them here or on DU. If someone here has already asked these questions I apologize.

Obama is half white and half black. He looks black. You call him black.

The Zimmermann guy in Florida is half white and half hispanic. He looks hispanic, yet you called him white. Yes, I know that when people started mentioning that he looks hispanic you made up the term "white-hispanic", but in the beginning you called him white.

If a half white Zimmermann is considered white even though he looks hispanic, shouldn't a half white Obama be considered white even though he looks black? And wouldn't that make the people that refuse to vote for Obama not racist?

If Zimmermann is white-hispanic why don't you call Obama white-black?

If Zimmermann's father was black instead of white would you call him black, hispanic, black-hispanic, or would you just ignore the story all together?

Chuck,

Don't fall into the trap of trying to rationalize irrationality.

In a real world, color wouldn't make a whit of diff. In a real world, people would be whatever color they happen to be, and that would be it.

But we live in a world where an alarmingly large amount of people live in fantasyland. Stating 2 + 2 = 13 makes as much sense to them as 4.

Relax, enjoy the idiocy but make damn sure you vote this November so we can finally take these bastards out.

That's something else that I've wondered about lately. With them 1+1 = potato...sometimes. Sometimes 1+1 = dog. Sometimes it equals 5. Sometimes it equals one million. Of all the possible things that they think 1+1 equals, it rarely, for them, equals 2. It's strange.

Oh now surely everyone's aware the primitives decide things on an ad hoc, case-by-case, basis with no consistency in the rules.

Poor stupid Beth is the best example of this.

Poor stupid Beth loves Yugo, but she probably wouldn't have liked Augusto Pinochet, despite his being Latino.

My turn.

Two black goons beat a white guy with a hammer because the guy was white. In your eyes, it was not a hate crime.

Six black guys get shot by an unknown goon in Oklahoma. In your eyes it's a hate crime.

Care to explain this one?
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

To them anything that happens to a black guy is a hate crime, but not if the same happens to a white guy.

It is a very unusual DUmbass and rare post when they even think 1+1= A NUMBER.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
