Oh my.
It's something we've all seen before.
A chunky ageing woman being jealous of a young good-looking woman.
It's as old as mankind, this phenomenon.
TANGENT ALERT:
In ancient Hebrew there are no vowel letters; whatever jots you may see are fairly "modern" inventions...at least as far as linguistics are concerned.
A tome I once read explained that the Hebrew tongue used the same root word with different vowel variations to give context related meainings to the sentences in which they were contained. As an example the author used the English letters BRD in relation to women.
A young, unmarried woman might b described as a BiRD; denoting her beauty and relatively carefree life.
But once she was betrothed she became a BRiDe.
However, after years of marriage, household drudgery and childbearing she might be referred to as a BRoaD.
Maybe it's just the vodka talking but your reference to older women being jealous of younger, prettier women reminded me of that passage.
