Robert B. Lee joined the Korean Christian Church of Houston in 1971, not long after immigrating to America from Seoul. He was baptized at the church. All three of his children were married there.

"This was my first, and it will be my last, church," Lee said.

But five months ago, the 83-year-old retired wholesale merchant and more than 100 of his fellow congregants opened their mailboxes to find letters of suspension or excommunication that accused them of bringing disorder to the church.

Lee and about 20 others also received criminal trespass notices, warning that police could arrest them if they set foot on church property.

This is has been ongoing for the past 10 years. Money has corrupted that church. That whole church is really rotten to the core.
