MALIA TAKES 12 PALS, 25 AGENTS ON SPRING BREAK VAKE

The Daily Mail by: Meghan Keneally Monday, March 19, 2012

While most students stare out their classroom windows at the good weather as they wait for Spring Break to arrive, Malia Obama is soaking in the Mexican sun.

The teenage first daughter is on a school trip to historic Oaxaco, Mexico as a part of the 'experiential learning' program run by Sidwell Friends Academy.

Experimental learning?

Is that what they're calling Spring Break these days?  Hell, back in my day it was seeing how much projectile vomiting could be done in Ensenada or Daytona Beach.

This makes me so mad!!! Well it was first a vacation , now it is a school trip?? Which is it??? :argh:
News flash to the first family...We, the American people are struggling to put food on the table so your daughter and her buds can go on a "school trip?" I think not!!!

It's probably both.  Greatest racket in education.  Teacher gins up a trip to some 'signifigant location' gets the kids, chaperones, lined up then gets a discount vacay for themself from the tour company for bringing in the marks.   :naughty:

But it is ok because all teachers are so devoted and poorly paid.

I don't quite know what is the worst issue about this whole thing...

1. Why in God's name would any parent...particularly a rich parent - send their kid to the far southwest part of Mexico these days?

2. Why would a school - particularly a school full of rich kids - even be associated with sending some of their students and teachers to a country that Americans have been warned is potentially dangerous, and the State Dept urges caution if going? Talk about sending in a bunch of potential kidnap targets!

3. WHY WOULD THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES EVEN CONTEMPLATE ALLOWING HIS DAUGHTER TO GO THERE?!?!?! For that matter, why would any president or head of government allow his child to go to a country that is rife with murders, kidnapping, etc of it's own people, not just foreigners? Wasn't it just a year or so ago that an American woman and her daughter were killed somewhere down around Acupulco while on vacation?

4. Forget for a moment that this is Obama's kid (yes, I know that is difficult)....but for any pres/head of st sending their kid into a potentially dangerous area, for a damn vacation!. I would never ever allow my kid to go on a trip like this. To me, it seems like irresponsible parenting.

5. How does any parent justify sending their kid on a trip to a potentially dangerous area? Simple, you let one kid's parent provide 25 US Secret Service people to protect their precious darlings!!!  25 people who are trained to step in front of a bullet to protect their protectee. You also let that same parent get with the Mexican government to get them to provide additional security!

6. # 5 brings me to the cost of providing protection for these little darlings. US tax dollars have to pay to protect the US president and his family - regardless of where they go. All the little darlings get the best protection money CAN'T buy, simply by going along with the President's daughter. Such a deal I have for you!!!

7. If I was a parent who had been stupid enough to send my kid on this trip, I would be terrified now that details of this trip have hit international news sources. Just in case the "bad guys" didn't know about a bunch of rich American kids being in the country, they probably do now.

8. Wonder what benefit Obama is getting from Mexico's prez for all this? "US President's kid goes to Mexico on Vacation". If the US pres lets his kid go on a trip there, it MUST be safe, right?

9. I'd like to know exactly where they are in Oaxoco, and why Oaxoco was picked over any other place. I looked at a map, not any big tourist areas that I recognized. Does the pres of Mexico have a private compound there? Does one of Obama's wealthy donors have a palatial spread there?

10. I sincerely hope these kids and their teachers, all make it safely back home, without any incident.

Can't wait to hear what is said on The Five about this trip.   Especially from the panel members who are parents.

They should make sure they take "piccies" of their "vake", suffice it to say.

I'm not talking about just Obama's kid.

Those kids at Sidwell, except for a few "scholarship" kids which every wealthy private school has (they need them for the sports teams  :whistling:)...those students are all from very wealthy families. Whether the parents be politicians, corporate CEO's, doctors, lawyers, Indian Chiefs...

Experimental learning?

Experimental Learning. HUMMMMMMM

Voodoo 101,

Identifying Hallucinogenic plants,

Customs involving virgins and volcano's,

Only Experimental Learning I ever had was after school activities that I lived in fear my parents would find out about.

Why can't the kids learn in down town LA if they want some real life education, sleep in homeless shelters, eat at free soup kitchens, visit abortion clinics or spend time with the family's of gang members.  The Experiment is to find out how many SS guards will have to be replaced after 3/4 of them are shot, mugged, or stabbed.

Is this some kind of punishment for the men and woman that will try to run herd on all those teenagers . What to do when one of the rich kids are caught doing the local cash crop, Government carears may be on the line. These kids can blackmale their guards and teachers to turn a blind eye.  All super, rich, influential familys that will believe Anything their spoiled kids tell them.

Didn't one of the Bush twins have their purse stolen a few years ago under the watchfull eyes of their bodyguards ????

God bless all the adults on this trip, 12-13 kids to control and cover 24/7. Hope they all took advanced classes in How to herd Cats.

BTW my class trip we went from NH to DC and the first night we made use of the fire escapes to wander about until midnight, first time I with two other girls watched the night action.  WOW-----3 of the Chaperon's developed ulcers when they got home, and one of them had some kind of nervous breakdown.  AND this was back a long long time ago.

Is 25 secret service agents enough?  It has been reported where the drug gangs have attacked military convoys at times.

and who in their right mind lets a 13 year old go on an exotic spring break? No. THAT IS STILL A CHILD!
This is not a summer camp, this is a country that cannot control its own criminal element.

Liberals are the worst of all things. They identify with our enemies. They refuse to defend the people in war or against crime. and here no one is condemning a potentially fatal parenting move.
Liberal parents = idiots.

Mr Mannn, there is much more to this then a spring break.   Obama could have sent his daughter and friends to Kenya to meet relatives of theirs.   Lots to learn in Kenya, Elephants and all kinds of wild life, the Presidents heritage and fathers home land.

Could of sent the kids to Europe or even Ireland the so called home of some ancestor of his, better security for the kids then some place , any place in Mexico.

Experimental Learning, why not to Israel and a archaeological dig, OH Yeah , but I do not think Palestine would send in rockets while they were there.

China, a world unto itself, the beauty, the amazing coexistence with the eons of past, present, and the future.

Why not Alaska into an Inuit village and learning about their culture and how they survived for thousands of years.
Kids will not bring back bugs and their guards may get the chance to save them from a Polar Bear.

Why in the world Mexico, unless this is a class course in Spanish that differs from area to area, Porto Rico Spanish is different from Cuban and the lingo in Mexico is different from theirs.  European Spanish is another thing all together.

The question of why to send kids to Mexico, with all the inoculations they should get before hand, is very interesting, I can not wait to see the video's of what Experimental Education is all about.

As spring break gets closer, the U.S. State Department advised Wednesday that United States citizens should avoid all "non essential" travel to 14 of 31 Mexican states.
U.S. citizens have fallen victim to drug-cartel related activity, also known as transnational criminal organizations (TCO), "including homicide, gunbattles, kidnapping, carjacking and highway robbery" and adding that in some cases “local police have been implicated,” the warning said in the widest travel advisory issued since 2006.

Seems like the possible political hook is so Obama can show Mexico his commitment to their country.

The snobby presidents daughter treated all her snobby school, facebook and twitter friends to a taxpayer funded free trip to Mexico...

Last night, I saw a little bit of the ABC evening news....it was regarding the earthquake in Mexico.

Diane Sawyer mentioned that "it was felt in Oaxoco where lots of American college kids were enjoying spring break and where President Obama's daughter was on a school trip, but the White House had confirmed that Malia was safe."

The video from Oaxoco showed a mass of college kids partying and one of those free standing bungee platforms with kids diving off it....kind of like a pic you would see from Cancun or FL.  :lmao:

Yeah, right....Malia and her pals are on a school sponsored trip. And I won the multi -million mega-lottery too....

This at the same time this same administration is putting up travel warnings to the American public to Mexico. Do as I say, not as I do. Considering the state of affairs there and the inability of that country to get their stuff in order, you'd thing conscientiously they'd protest by sending the kids to a location not rife with corruption and murder. What's next, the youngest daughter going to Cuba for Christmas this year with her class?  :hammer:

I won't even touch the ridiculous use of taxpayer money. Supported by many of the same people who want to take a larger peice of the pie from everyone else for their healthcare and such has no problem with Obama spending money that 'could have been there's' to send his brats on what would be a dream vacation for most(well before the disaster Mexico now is).
