Central, Eastern Europe in Deep FreezeEurope’s current cold snap held on in central and eastern parts of the continent on Monday, taking a high death toll.Police in Poland said Monday the current wave of sub-zero temperatures has claimed 62 lives. Homeless shelters in the country have dropped their ban on intoxicated people as the mercury falls below -20 degrees Celsius during the night.More than 300 have died Europe-wide due to the cold snap.

Where do you come up with -60? -20C is only about -4F. Try living in Fairbanks where the weather has been below -50F, with HIGHS in the -40F range.Granted, we've been damn lucky so far this winter, with it being as "warm" as we have, but there have still been plenty of mornings where I've seen -20F WITHOUT the windchill, and if you got into the north country you'll be pushing -40F or worse.
