Well if what you say is true, then I owe you an apology. Frank seems to think you are good people, so I will defer to him. I do wonder though... a Magna Cum Laude (MCL) in business should understand how to make a budget. You said you make a "good salary". Sounds to me like you are spending everything you make. Never a good idea. Did you see if your company has a tuition assistance program? I would think a MCL would have looked into that.

If you are young, that would explain a lot.

Again, if what you say is true, please accept my apology. If you are lying, then eat shit and die.

Yes, they offer tuition reimbursement, though not for the school I attend.  I chose to continue attending this school instead of transferring to another school.  They will be paying for my MBA and MPA.

I make an okay salary for what I do.  I don't live a champagne life on the beer budget.  School is expensive and I choose to spend my money on it.  A few years of living paycheck to paycheck is worth what I'll be making in the end.  I also have no credit card debt.

She isn't lying. She is a great person.

Well that settles it. If BEG and Frank vouch for her, then she must be a good person.

Sincere and heartfelt apology to Miss Mia.  :cheersmate:

Alas, tonight I must finish my papers that are due by 11pm.  I'm off for now.  Maybe back, maybe not.

Yes, my fridge is broken.  Since you all think I'm stupid let me explain.  I was taking an evening course at school the week the fridge apparently broke.  I didn't realize it was broken until none of the food was salvageable.  The repair men were jerking me around about replacing the whole control board versus just resoldering a new fuse on to it.  An in-line fuse holder is going to be put on instead of soldering a new fuse on, so that it's an easy replacement in the future.

I work at the same company with my mom.  I see her every day.  She offered to buy the mini-fridge since her house is out of my way and it would be inconvenient for me to store my perishable food at her house.  I get along with her great.  I didn't "make it my mother's problem" I was just calling to tell her what was going on since she said "let me know what the repair men say."

I work for a large defense contractor.  I don't want to spend the money on another fridge I don't need when this one is only 3 years old.  My home does not have a shop or garage as the garage was converted into living space well before I bought it, so I'd have no place for a second fridge that as a person living alone doesn't need.  I make a good living doing what I do, but I don't have a lot of savings because I pay for my tuition and books myself.  I currently attend school at a private conservative business school and graduate this May Magna Cum Laude.  I've already received hints for better job offers within the company I work for and I'll start a dual Masters (MBA & MPA) program in the fall.

Any more questions or assumptions you'd like me to address?

Whew I was about to rip new buttholes to defend Miss Mia's honor. I'm glad she did it for me with BEG and frank vouching for her. She's a good girl and cooks cakes like nobody's business while shilling for an evil defense firm :-) :-*

2. It's just awful

The good news is that it's a fuse that's out in the fridge. It's soldered onto the circuit board so the repair guy was like "oh yeah, you'll need to replace this whole control board."

No need to be embarrassed; you and many others didn't know.

I had two sinister motives for posting this particular thread: (a) to catch the attention of Miss Mia and lure her over here for even if only a short appearance, and (b) to demonstrate to the cowardly primitives that if they ever think the DUmpster misrepresents them, they can emulate Miss Mia and come here to enlighten us.

(a) worked, but it's highly doubtful (b) will ever come to fruition, because the primitives would rather sulk over on Skins's island than "set the record straight" here.  i.e., I don't think GOBUCKS and others need worry about an invasion of primitives; they're too scared.

But at least I got half the goals met.

This was some good stuff.  Surprised the doesn't get kicked from DU, especially for admitting she is a social conservative.

My mistake.  Either way, with some of her statements here I am surprised she hasn't been thrown off of the island.

Well...Mia isn't a republican. She's a democrat albeit a fiscally conservative one. It is possible to post over there as a fiscally conservative democrat(you're considered a DLCer by the moonbats over there) but a democrat just the same. She also doesn't get into alot of pissing matches over there and that helps as well.

Yes, obviously something I should own. A friend is taking care of it for me this time. Once an in-line fuse holder is put it, this is an issue I can easily resolve by myself.

I guess DUers would classify me as a blue dog/DLC/evil centrist. Like you said I'm not one for pissing matches and never have been. DU posts a lot of news articles that I wouldn't normally see. I like the smaller groups and I've had some great interactions with some DUers and the ones I've personally met are all great people.  The same thing here back in the day I had great interactions with some CCers and some were flat out assholes (I guess the opposite of the so-called 'moonbats').

There are good and bad in every group of people, of course.  From what we read at the DUmp, there aren't too many good ones there...especially if a thread gets too Christian.
