I am tired of arguing

with friends that live in the southeast (more south then east) about why requiring a photo ID at a polling place is disenfranchising voters.

But the biggest argument I have had lately is with these insane people that believe anyone on government assistance should have to submit to a UA before getting benefits, and that they should be randomly tested because they are "tired of paying tax dollars to support these deadbeat's drug habit".

I have become sick to my stomach trying to talk sense into these people....Argggh!

I am tired of arguing

with friends that live in the North (more Europe than America) and out west (More Cuba than America) about why requiring a photo ID at a polling place is not disenfranchising voters.

But the biggest argument I have had lately is with these insane people that believe no one on government assistance should have to submit to a UA before getting benefits paid for by the earnings of hard-working tax payers, and that they shouldn't be randomly tested because they are "entitled to the tax dollars of hard-working citizens to continue their drug habit".

I have become sick to my stomach trying to talk sense into these people....Argggh!

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Link doesn't work :(
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Stalin really knew how to handle people he was tired of arguing with but couldn't convince.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Florida has required a photo ID for as long as I can remember and I've never heard anyone bitch and complain about it. All these disenfranchised voter arguements are just much ado about nothing, Weakly constructed strawmen that actually prove nada.

Stalin didn't waste time arguing. It was his way or the family was billed for the cost of the bullet.

When the working men and women who pay for their welfare benefits have to submit to a UA just to get the job to earn the money that the government confiscates from their hard work before they even see it to pay for entitlements then the least the government can do is have the same standards for them as those paying for them.

As for ID...the one thing none of you can ever answer for me (and by all means feel free to come over here and let me know now) is, if these people have to show ID to get the above benefits (the government requires ID), to buy alcohol & cigarettes, to open a bank account (the government only direct deposits checks for the safety of the recipients), even to cash a check at Walmart then why is it wrong to require the same piece of ID be shown at the voting booth?

Granted, not one of you has the guts to come here and defend your position but at least those of you lurking have to (at least for one fleeting second) face how hypocritical and fearful you are.

Again with the ID crap.  Why not just be honest and say why you really don't want it. It's not a secret.
