I'm in my early 50's, have never been one to sleep in much since my teen years, but am now often up at 3:30 or 4 AM. Usually, if I wake up, I can't go back to sleep...and I'm often better off making do with the 5 or so hours I've gotten. If I get back to sleep, I often have a foggy, groggy day coming up. I'm definitely "sharper" on less sleep.
If I do manage to get a whole 7 or 8 hours, I wake up with a stiff lower back and neck (not age related, been this way since I was a teen.) I also usually also end up with my arms asleep, and sometimes leg cramps, and I think those are age related. If I weighed over 200 pounds, I'd figure they were weight related, but as is, I just blame it on age.

I often have plans for my early morning time, and get stuff done that needs me to pay attention...like the laundry, so I get the clothes out of dryer right away and don't have to iron anything.

Yesterday, I'd planned to make cookie dough and get it started cooling, but someone decided to sleep in the living room so I had to be quiet.

Hate that!!
