Lowes had some 40-watt equivalent ones on clearance for around $10, I got one to replace a &%@# CFL that lasted about as long as an incandescent in a particularly hard-to-change fixture.  Delighted to have an alternative to the curly little piece of poisonous shit.

I had one of those CFL's go out in the fixture over the dining room table.

Replaced it with a 75w incandescent, then broke the globe while replacing it!

For years I bought my bulbs from the Lions Club.  For $15.00 I would get half a case of 100 W bulbs.  When we moved we took the unused bulbs with us, darn the bulbs lasted years.

In 25 years I believe we bought just twice from the Lions Club, Had I taken the still functional bulbs with us, I would still have a few left.

Are the Lions still selling these bulbs, I would really like to buy another half case, at to days prices that would most likely $60.00+ but a steal at that price.

I'm not so sure this is dead yet.  They just blocked funding of the enforcement of the law. They didn't repeal the law.  Many companies have already shifted production from incandescent to CFLs or the more expensive energy efficient incandescent bulbs.

Well, I guess we'll see.  This has been a HUGE pet topic for me.  The last time they tried to repeal it, and it failed, I told my dem rep he lost my vote just because of that, and I will donate and work for anyone running against him.

I have never purchased a CFL, and I never will.  They won't enter my house.  I am a proud hoarder.

I don't know if they still do or not.  I purchased a case or 2 of those bulbs myself over the years, but haven'e seen them in a long time.

I know some Loins' Club members, I'll have to ask.
