Poor bank account management (w/ Grasswire suggestion)

Florida Bank Atlantic ripped me off.....Let's kick some bankers' asses, OWS!!!!!

I closed all my bank acounts.....left BOA years ago. Now I'm banking with a credit union.

But, last year while in Miami visiting, i got an account at Florida Bank Atlantic. They are as crooked as BOA, if not moreso! Stay away from Florida Bank Atlantic.

Here is what happened:

Someone in FL owed me money and I asked them to deposit it in cash in my Bank Atlantic account and they agreed. This was in March of this year. I checked my acct via online banking and the funds showed up in there that evening. I went ahead and bought an airline ticket and some other stuff i needed online, using my bank atlantic debit card.

days later while checking my acct online i noticed seven $35 overdraft charges totaling $245. I called the bank and the drone on the other end of the line said that i didn't have the cash in my acct because a check had been deposited (by the person that owed me the money) and it hadn't cleared when i made my purchases. they sent me a scan of the check. hmmm.....there was no way to determine this from the summary of my acct the day i made all my purchases. by this time i was already out of town on my trip and i needed the money they sucked out in overdraft charges, but they would not reverse those charges no matter how much i made my case.

... more sad story ending up with overdrawn account and lots of fees sold to an evil debt collector

BTW - who gets a bank account when they are just visiting????

2. Bank of America just paid out $41 million dollars in a class action suit for this kind of...

....predatory fines.

I would advise the bank and/or PRS that I am part of a 150,000-member activist Internet community and I'm going to take the matter to these activists and to Twitter and Facebook if those charges aren't reversed.

Also tell them that Michael Moore is looking for new material for a movie and you are sending your documentation to him.

And advise them about the Bank of America settlement.

I am sure they are quaking in their boots. Still a small campfire but I liked the suggestion of bringing the power of DU to bear on the problem...

This DUchebag is a real bully. More proof that what pisses off a DUmbass is what they do.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Why didn't you just ask for a cashiers check, cash or a wire transfer?

Because it wouldn't have triggered the "mean old bank" reflex when it bounced was deposited.

I've banked with several banks, usually 2 or 3 at the same time, for over 48 years and have had only a couple of problems in all that time. The DUmmies seem to have more problems in a month than I did in 48 years.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Just to reiterate on these public internet waves:

Quote
Hikers, bikers and other trail users can expect brown-sugar peach, lemon icebox and deep-dish green apple pies, among other varieties, for $3. Unless they're teachers or public servants, because Smith will serve those customers at no cost.

Estimated Revenue:                                    $   24
Less:
Ingredients                                                   200
Workers Comp                                               625
General Liab.                                                400
Recurring Maint on old building @ union scale   5,000
Legal fees RE Bribery charges                       10,000

???

Profit!

Let's see.
Wanted a cash deposit and got a check  deposit instead.
As I recall, deposits after a certain time of day, do not become recorded till the next business day.
I can just imagine the firestorm if that check bounced. :rotf:
Would have been the bank's fault, or at least Bush.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I'm wondering if the check did bounce and that was omitted from this re-telling.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Given the way the primitives do that, leaving something out, and given that DUmmies lie, all the time, DUmmies lie, I'd give that a better than 50% odds of being the case.
