Sidwell Friends School, Sasha and Malia Obama's School, Opts For Asian Food On Pearl Harbor Day

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- What are President Obama's kids eating at school on Pearl Harbor day? Asian food, of course!

Sidwell Friends School's website shows the menu for Wednesday December 7th, 2011, the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day, as an Asian food day.

Pearl Harbor Day is usually a time of remembrance for Americans. On December 7th, 1941, thousands of Americans died in a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor Navy base in Hawaii. An attack that thrust the U.S. into World War II.

Here are the options for Malia Obama and her sister, Sasha on the "Day that will live in Infamy:"

December 7, 2011

MS/US

Asian Mushroom Soup
Oriental Noodle Salad
Classic Spinach Salad
Teriyaki Marinated Chicken Strips
Szechuan Tofu & Veggies
Garlic Roasted Edamame
Vegetable Fried Rice
Fortune Cookies

What do you think about the menu? Insensitive, or is it just time to move on? Weigh in on our Facebook page.

=========================================

A little nitpicky?  Maybe.  But remember, eat your peas.  Oh, and at $30K a year per student, why not set an example and send the kids to public school?  Oh yeah, that's right.

At least they're not serving friend chicken and greens on MLK Day.  That would be offensive. ::)

Maybe not really as inappropriate as it sounds, if it was Chinese.  Japanese aggression against China was the powder train that led to the war, China remained an important theater of operations throughout the fight, and along with the Koreans their civilians certainly bore the brunt of the worst of Japan's war crimes and atrocities.

Shitwell Fiends should send Japanese food in Nanking and Seoul to help bolster their image as bridge-builders.

The wounds are far from healed...except in Japan, where they studiously avoid teaching the kids about what Japan actually did in the war, so the kids grow up totally ignorant of their country's recent misdeeds, fed a bunch of BS about their superiority to Koreans, and full of a false sense of moral superiority for getting their asses A-bombed by us.

Beginning to sound a lot like the Muzzies.

Oh, believe me, you wouldn't believe how profoundly ignorant (willing or otherwise) most Japanese under the age of 50 are about their role in the war.

How that old joke go?  Why are there so few Indians but so many Muslims?  Cause we haven't gotten around to playing, "Cowboys and Muslims" yet.

So December 7 no American should eat any kind of food some enemy ate 60 years ago.  RIGHT.

Whats the matter with you guys, No Lima beans or limes on the forth of July.

This has gotten and  become weird, it is now insane.  The kids like and were raised on a diet from around the world, food they get every day at home.   What the heck eating rice and favorite dish at a Chinese Restaurant , General sweet and sour pork is a huge favorite but not to be eaten on the day  of the Boxer Rebellion.???

So on the day when Italy joined the AXES, I should become PC and polite to not keep making Pizza, On the day the German marched in poland, no sourkraut.

This is what makes us Americans and causes us to wonder what he hell is going on in our country.

Enough is enough, when children cannot decide what they want to eat due to political politics, now we know we have a problem.

I'd be perfectly fine with that, actually.

Well, it looks like it's the SCHOOL'S menu. Those are the options given to the stooodents, seems to me.

I think it's nitpicky. The kids can't be held responsible for the choices that the school makes in their lunch program.

That said, it might've been better to put Spam on the menu. I think the Hawaiians eat that shit by the freighter load.

They do.  And it's GOOD.

Yeah, like I said, it was kind of nitpicky, but damn if their timing doesn't suck.  Personally, they SHOULD have done this, just so the liberal douchebag parents head would have exploded:

Plate lunch, brah.  Mo ono grinds.  Two scoop rice, one scoop mac salad.  My particular faves were katsu or soyu chicken, pork kahlua, or beef musubi, and maybe a little ahi poke if you were really lucky.

They do.  And it's GOOD.

I love Spam!  Because I was raised on it in the late 50s and into the 60s, I guess.  It actually would make a pretty appropriate memorial meal for WW2, when you get down to it.

I'm tellin ya, Spam fried rice is da bomb.  Throw a scrambled egg on top and you've got the perfect start to your day.  There was a place on Maui that did that as one of their breakfast specialties (although they added some sausage and bacon too).  The other was macadamia nut pancakes.  Oh. My. GOD.

Where do you come from originally?

I would like like to avoid that country's food.

And probably its water too.

Mr. Bunny, Originally like all of us I came out of Africa.

If by chance you mean in the last 500 years, Europe.

Darn man, I am a mongrel, I have to go by what ever the woman in the family said about the fathers side.

I have great expectation that some of my mothers side could not out run the Indians and added to the gene pool.

As both sides of family were seaman I suggest you plan a vacation on Mars, I hear they just found some interesting deposits up or down there.
