Gregorian (1000+ posts) Tue Nov-15-11 04:09 PMOriginal message New feature wanted- If you rec. or unrec. a thread, you should be required to post why you did so. This would stop people from being anonymous. It would make those who disagree to be accountable. It would deter crashers from killing threads. Not only that, but I'm sure everyone has seen posts on the greatest page that have recommendations and not a single reply. There's something wrong with that just as there is with those who want to anonymously kill a thread by unrecommending it. I was just reading the thread by Chris Hedges on how OWS has won, and how the 1% have nothing to offer. And the thread was unrecommended. Clearly these are unrecommends by people who are not truly part of this forum.
Skinner ADMIN (1000+ posts) Tue Nov-15-11 04:25 PMResponse to Original message 1. On DU3 (our soon-to-be released upgrade) there won't be an unrec function. And all recommendations are public. So nobody can recommend in secret.
Gregorian (1000+ posts) Tue Nov-15-11 05:24 PMResponse to Reply #1 2. Yay. Good move. The only reason I ever unrecommend something is when it seems like it just makes this forum look trite to outsiders. But I guess we can't be serious all of the time.

No hits, only kisses. Everyone gets a trophy!I know, I know! Skins! Please introduce a bitchslap/highfive function! What fun it would be!

Can you imagine it?First the feminazis would go insane over the title of the bitch-slap...then once that squabble calms down, every time the attention-whore DUmmies got one there would be three or four threads moaning about it.What would make it even more fun would be if they could see who had given them the bitch-slap.
