I went tonight to the Occupy San Diego Site
 And these are first impressions.

Presence core, is about forty people and more than a few are truly among our homeless population. So yes, it does smell a tad, nothing as bad as a few homeless encampments I visited. That did not surprise me to be honest, nor did it bother me. I actually had to smile, council has to walk through that every day, a tad difficult to avoid looking the invisible in the eye now.

As all movements they attracted ONE kook, the Israel did 911, who shows on schedule at five. No, they stopped engaging him a while ago.

it looks disorganized but it is not...

One more thing, they are very committed to this... and are annoyed that they try to explain what they want to Council and it is like a wall, No, that does not shock me.

I will download photos from my camera and upload to my site later on.

And yes I am going to have to watch Keith on the rerun.

Oh and as to police presence, a tad on the heavy side for the amount of people there, but they are polite... and none is wearing any riot gear.

Oh and yes my local media did show up, and since I was talking photos the cops decided I was doing exactly what I was doing, documenting this. Oh and did take a photo from the supposed angle where dog was fetching flag, and nope there is no way that this agent provocateur piece was filmed there. (I posted last night)

Oh and yes, they are getting donations all the time, I did donate some cash too.

Oh and veterans for peace is also there and did manage to have a talk about how the geneva convention covers medics in civil strife as well. The lady did not want to listen, sadly, until I pulled out my ancient ID... then she was all ears.

I was there today too, nadin.  If the homeless people packed up and left, there would be maybe 6-10 people left standing around.

Why does she have to remind every one that she is or was a medic ( of some sort ) with every post she makes now? And all Geniva Convention jibberish. WTF does that have to with any thing?

I wish you would have taken a photo of Nadin without knowing it was her.  Could you just imagine her reaction if a photo of her was up on our site?  :rotf:

If that actor that does the Dos XX commercials (The Most Interesting Man in the World) ever needs a foil, Nads is the one.

Stay thirsty my friends, because you had better be able to drink alot if you are going to be with bat shit crazy broad!
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Some more pics from this morning.

They have signs taped to the deck all over the place, I had to change my step to avoid stepping on one of them and this weird guy rushed over to me to thank me for "showing respect".

When this guy was done with his interview he hopped on his skateboard and started to jump the steps over and over.  A couple of cops walked over and told him to stop and he threw his skateboard out into the street and started yelling about how we are all pawns and fascism and stuff, I really couldn't follow it.  The cops ignored him and he calmed down.

The "weird guy" is the dude at the left in this picture.  He had a British accent and he smelled like he hadn't showered for a long while.

Guess the homeless got tired of hanging out on Midway and Sports Arena, and the cops kicked them out of downtown long ago.

Are you sure it was a "guy", and why were you close enough to smell it?
Jake, yer a real trouper, but, don't be doing silly stuff like that.
At least not without protection.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

It got down into the low 30's in San Francisco over night, the local news was making a big deal about the protestors toughing out the cold.  My workout partners and I got a good laugh out of the news reporters trying to interview the potheads  :stoner:
