It's DU's fault !

When the Democrats do not regain the Congress or if Obama loses the Presidency, there will be some here that will blame the progressive leftists on DU for the loss. They just did not get out and vote and that is why the Democrats lost, they will say.

How many leftists are on DU anyway? How many millions of votes are we worth? If every leftist that posts on DU or simply every progressive that reads DU were to stay away from the polls on that first Tuesday in November, would it make one bit of difference? We cannot be as small in numbers as the critics here say and still have enough influence to affect the election. It simply is not possible. We cannot lose the election one way or the other. We do not have the power by your own admission.

So why the criticism? Because we are nothing more than a discussion board. We cannot affect the election one way or the other. We can only offer our differing opinions about how the voters at large can lose the election. DU is not relevant in the big picture. Do you disagree?

2. And there will be some "leftists" and "progressives" on DU cheering his defeat...'cause it will allow the US to hit rock bottom sooner, allowing a true progressive phoenix to rise up from the ashes and lead everyone into the progressive promised land.

15. Quote from DU thread that received more than 300 recs...

"And yes, maybe a jerk like Rick Perry will become president because of people like me, but I'll tell you right now, we are headed in that direction sooner or later on this crash course, and I would rather have it be sooner, so that we can hit bottom quickly and rise back up. "

So, yes, I am telling the truth.

16. So you interpret that as a "cheer"?

Sounds more like a warning to me?

11. Since "DU is not the real world" and the "real world" of Democrats support him than his defeat is not going to happen and no one will be "cheering" something that didn't happen ... no worries

I'm sorry you feel powerless. Do something about it!

6. I thought we agreed to disagree already.

Imagine, IF the teaRoari$t$ (by some miraculous 'machination' remote controls) will 'manage' to 'win' all three branches in 13 months, how much more we will have to agree to disagree, again.

13. We have no power to do either.

How many of us are there? Why should we accept credit or responsibility and why would you want to offer it? Do you think we are that powerful?

I love DU, they cry themselves to sleep when a cop killer gets executed, they cry their eyes out when we kill an actual terrorist, yet, the real danger in the world is us Tea Party people, who have radical ideas like the government not spending us into the ground. I bet if a drone took out a Tea Party gathering they would be celebrating.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

For some reason this verse reminds me of DU.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

And for some reason, sir, I think you're right.

That sums up liberals rather well.

Isn't there a Bible verse that says something about people believing that good is evil and evil is good?

maybe this one?

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

This one seems to fit them well also.

Romans 1: 28-32 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

That one works pretty well.

For some reason this verse reminds me of DU.

For many reasons, this reminds me of Democrats, liberals, and primitives.

And those other two quoted further down, too.

Thanks, sir!

It would look like the opening sequence to 2001.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.
