There's no food that cannot be improved by adding melted cheese and bacon bits.
No.  With a BLT, the bacon, tomato, mayo all meld together for a specific flavor that's awesome.  You don't add cheese.  And your hypothesis doesn't stand up to BBQ ribs or filet mignon, either.  So there.

Just try and imagine what that would look like on a plate.  Belongs here:  The Gallery of Regrettable Food

Ewwwww, cooking the ribs with baked beans? I love ribs and I love baked beans, but not to cook together like that.
Good way to make sure your friends don't come back to your second barbecue.

Baked Beans ala Tanataafl:

Enough Bush's Baked Beans to fill the crock pot 3/4 full, drained
Pound of bacon, done, but not crispy, chopped up. Dump in with the beans
Some chopped onion or challots, if you want.
One or two bottles of Famous Dave's Devil's Spit barbecue sauce
Stir it up to mix
Clamp on Crock pot lid. Turn Crock pot to HIGH until it bubbles, then turn down to low for overnight

I like to put diced Granny Smith Apples in mine before serving, others may perfer sour cream.
The perfect compliment to meat.

You don't know good eating until you've wrapped your filet in bacon, and topped it with a big glob of Cheez Whiz.

And a BLT is still great if you 86 the mayo, tomato and lettuce, and add a couple slices of American cheese to the bacon.

It might not be bad but then I thought about it. I already make beans with a meaty ham bone and put it on rice. I eat that because I am poor. If I had ribs I would not make a poor boy platter with them. And I sure wouldn't add sloppy joe mix to it.

Damn, now I want some ribs and I am stuck eating tuna until this week end.

Try some country style ribs.  Lot cheaper than baby backs, and if cooked slowly (5-6 hours) just as tasty.

Aren't ribs, fried chicken, watermelon, and greens all "black stereotype" foods?

Therefore,

 :racist:

for DUmmies to discuss recipes involving any of the above.

(Myself, I never looked down on soul food. I always considered it a sign that black folks had better taste buds than pretentious tofu and snail eating white folks)
Capitalism is based on self-interest and self-esteem; it holds integrity and trustworthiness as cardinal virtues and makes them pay off in the marketplace, thus demanding that men survive by means of virtue, not vices. It is this superlatively moral system that the welfare statists propose to improve upon by means of preventative law, snooping bureaucrats, and the chronic goad of fear.

Hell, "Soul Food" is nothing but "Southern Food". I grew up on it. It's a Yankee term they created to describe something they knew nothing about.

3. Pulled pork also works great in the slow cooker

3 pound butt roast
your choice of dry rub - I used Emeril's Creole Seasoning recipe
1 small onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 bottle of beer (recipe called for root beer but we had a stale bottle of Samuel Adams Blackberry beer hubby had forgotten)
Some liquid smoke
Some molasses (to make up for the sugar that would have been in root beer. If you don't like sweet BBQ leave this out.)

Simmer on low all day. Shred the pork. Remove most of the liquid from the cooker, and put meat back in. You want enough liquid to barely moisten the meat. Add your choice of BBQ sauce, heat through and serve however you like.

I had a flame-up on that right side when I was in watching football.  :bird:

It's a Char-Broil Red, but it got so hot a while back, it burned a hole in the pan. I normally turn that side off, but that was when I was heating them up to serve. I cook'em at about 220-250 for about 4-6 hours and use a LOT of wood chips.

Yeah, they need to give that guy the night off.  (I stole that joke from someone here.  Sue me.)

McCormick's makes a really good pork rub.  You actually need nothing else.  The cider vinegar sounds really good too.
