I don't like the death penalty. Honestly, I don't trust the government to get it right 100 percent of the time. I always worry that an innocent person will be put to death. Also, because I am Catholic and pro-life, I believe that the death penalty should be used only in the most extreme cases--mostly for the protection of other innocent life.
That said, two guilty men were executed last night. I don't celebrate that, but I understand it.
I guess I hate that we still need the death penalty, if that makes any sense.
