Politics in the cooking and baking forum, as usual.

A weekly supermarket flyer has a prominent pic of the Twin Towers and "We Will Never Forget!" on the front.

What does that have to do with the price of Skippy Peanut Butter?

Bad enough 9-11 is mentioned as often as possible. Now it's a marketing tool? Proof of a patriotic store? Are we going to have to endure the long, black veil of 9-11 every year until everyone who was there has died?

2. Tacky.

Some people have no qualms about exploiting tragedy. Kind of like the fuss I've been hearing in the media about the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" exploiting the man's suicide. It's working so well I wouldn't be surprised to hear of some reality show producer getting busted for trying to put out a hit on a contestant some day in order to stir up ratings.

4. That really bothered me...

I watch all of the Real Housewives shows. I just do. It seemed like mindless entertainment and I don't think it's any worse than some of the shows other people watch. But this guy's death made me sad and disgusted at the same time. They WERE using the failing marriage to boost ratings. You could tell from the beginning this guy did NOT want to be on the show very much. I think it's why he made plans to go out of town all the time. I won't go as far as blaming the show for his death as he obviously had issues before being on it, but I hope this makes them reconsider digging up people with deep-rooted problems and placing them on TV.

WTF?

Please come back, hippywife Mrs. Alfred Packer; the cooking and baking forum sucks without you.

To be honest, it sucked with her as well. As anything would.
But it did have a few more entertaining threads.
