Democrats seeking reelection distancing themselves from Obama

Democrats distancing themselves from Obama
President's low approval rating worrying Party members in swing-districts

Quote
It’s been a tough summer for swing-district Democrats seeking reelection in 2012 with a president at the top of the ticket whose approval ratings are in the weeds.

As these members begin to focus on their reelection bids after Labor Day, they are increasingly calculating how close is too close to an unpopular President Obama. >>>

The president’s dismal poll ratings, should they continue into next year, could sink Democratic hopes for reclaiming ground in the House and retaining control of the Senate — especially in battleground states and swing districts.

It’s a sea change from the early days of his presidency, when liberal and moderate Democrats alike sought to tie themselves to the president and benefit from his popularity and charisma. Most moderate Democrats supported his stimulus and health care reform legislation that they’re now distancing themselves from. Less than two years ago, Owens tied himself to the president’s agenda in his initial campaign for Congress. That’s now a distant memory.

Stinky is a permanent stench on the fabric of the American psyche. But will voters hold their noses to re-elect him as the MSM will most certainly recommend? Or will the Hildebeast come to the rescue?

If I'm a GOP candidate running in 2012 against a Dem who supported Obama (as did my former Congresscritter, Che-Pelosi), I'm running their statements of support for Obama 24/7.

I know Shea-Porter thinks she can get her old seat back.  I'm here to say she won't even get past the primary.

and she has a primary challenge IIRC.

But lets face it if the Republicans don't get their collective thumbs out of their butts you could run a dead goat on the dem ticket and win.

This is in no way an indication that I think Kimball is wrong but regardless what is currently going on is not a good.

Sorry Janice a little local color.

Lots of dims are real unhappy with ObieWun but the question is will the independents hold their nose to vote for Obiewun or will they finally see the light of day?  His only hope IMHO is a three person race where he only needs a plurality like Bubba's first term with L. Ron Perrot. :fuelfire:

Terrie Norelli is running again?  OMG.

And yeah, Kimball is pissing through good will faster than Fergus "Mouth Breather" Cullen did, and that takes some SERIOUS doing.

Really know how to push my buttons don't ya. :hammer: Norelli is on my short list of people who are a true waste of oxygen. Pelosi, Porter, Shaheen, Norelli. Have an ear worm with that group.  ( I had a thought for the Halloween Parade ~ Grover Norquist~ ) Folk would be standin in puddles of pee they would be so terrified! :-)

And then you go and compound the fault mentioning Dingus Cullen.  What's wrong with you lad?  Children can read this board.   :rotf:

I can't believe there are no Republicans that can match up against Bugger Buckley.  Looks like the Republican party NH is going to fall back into the hands of the same old same old to continue its drift to the left. RINO land here we come.

Pretty much.  Sadly, I'm not impressed with the current lot in Concord.  They STILL (STILL!!!) think you can win elections by putting a few hand-printed signs out, shake a few hands, and it's all good.  Say what you want about the Boy-Bugger Buckley, he DOES run a very efficient (you thought I was gonna say "tight", didn't ya?) ship and definitely puts out an effective (if misleading) message.

So what do we have left?  The Papa Doc wing of the NH GOP?  We're screwed.  Lynch just got another term.
