It's over Virginia Beach now and should be in NYC by noon tomorrow.

Looks like the rain is just coming down in buckets up there. The flooding looks to be the worst of it.

The Time Warner cable station is saying that the really strong winds will hit the Albany area around 9 AM, and stay in the area until 6 PM . . . and any power outages may not be restored for days.  My wife and daughter will be home anyway for the week.  I may just try to go to work tomorrow, unless I hear on a radio broadcast that there's no power there.  I've got two appointments for work on Wednesday--one in Dutchess County and one near West Point.  Let's see if either one happens.

Well we've been put under a tropical storm warning and high wind warming with wind gusts up to 100 km/h.

It looks like it should pass well to the west though which I'm happy about.

I'm still concerned about the power as it's almost 100% guaranteed to go out and could take a while to get back on thanks to NSP. I did get some extra diesel for the generator though today. Quite a run on the gas stations.

So basically whatever we got wind-wise was piss-all.  The most I saw was gusts to 45 mph.  Granted, it's still enough up here to knock out power to 100K in NH (out of total of 500K) and Scoobie says some trees are down around the property and the neighborhood, but basically this is nowhere near living up to the hype they played up.

It shot its wad well south of us.

Yes. It did.  No power still

Oh, the second part of the wind will hit here later tonight, but again, aside from power outages, there shouldn't be a whole lot of cleaning up.  Scoobie showed me a few pics of the driveway and it's really not all that bad.  (knocks on wood)

They called for 45-50 mph with gusts to 70 mph.  We got 30-35 with gusts to 45.  They're calling for the same thing tonight.  Something tells me we're not going to get it.

Right now PSNH reports about 107K out of their 500K customers without power.  Don't know about Unitil or any of the other munis in NH, but figure 20-25 percent outages is about right.  Most of those folks will be back on in 2-3 days, but based on availability of out-of-state line crews, some folks might not be back for a week or more (and we're usually the last ones to get power restored because we live in BFE.)

Just checkin in. We returned from being evacuated to Rocky Mount, NC. I think we should have either (a) stayed home or (b) gone further inland, but the military issues orders not invitations...Anyway, power has been restored to my house and most of our area in NENC. Lots of trees and limbs down, saw a couple of houses that were destroyed, and flooding on some roadways. Our house did very well, except some missing shingles which have to be replaced. Best of luck to everyone being effected by this mess.

Yard looks like October with leaves down, big branches down, and Internet out all day but other than that we are good.  Still have an hour or so of wind left so anything is possible.

Good.  I hope it ends well.

I wasn't expecting to hear from the New England contingent until late tonight.

All is well in Maine. Old Orchard Beach is closed however. Heavy winds, but nothing spectacular. Portland is supposed to get some sort of water surge around 11:11 pm tonite when it reaches high tide. Power went out  at work an hour before I left.  I have power and made a grilled cheese before the power did go out.

Hot....................damn hot.  I've still never seen a storm like this, the back side of the storm would never quit.  We were still having 60~70mph gust 12 hours after landfall.  I've got multiple trees down.  We had some bad flooding around here.

Damn.  Thankfully it wasn't higher rated.  Is your electric out at your house?  Not because of power failure, but the dangling meter?

Our power has been out for about 12 hrs. PSNH has said to expect to take several days to restore all customers. I'll make a guess and go with 5 days here. Showers at work at least.

That's a bummer. My sister who lives in Durham, lost hers at 10 this morning. It seems after hearing numerous reports, areas west of 95 got slammed, lost power more damage, whereas areas east of 95 was hardly touched. My mother(Rye) had practically no damage, and I didn't either.

Power just went out so the generator is going now. I'll shut it off when I go to bed in a bit.

We've got very little rain but a lot of wind from this.

So far 10000 without power in NS but that will soon jump to 50000 or more by morning.

Woke up and the power restoration time is 2:00pm, otherwise known as "we don't have a damn clue, deal with it."  :p

Took a drive and nothing interesting happened, no downed trees or anything.

This storm was a joke up here in the end.

I am fine, I'm 150 miles inland. All I got Frank was a mild breeze and no rain. The coast got a lot of rain and some high winds but they have had much worse before.

PSNH doing assessments, currently at about 90-95K without power, down from peak of 125K.

I'm going to try to make it a half-day today so I can clean the yard and driveway.  Lots of branches and leaves, a couple of small trees, all the corn blown over, but other than that, unscathed.

Prayers up for everyone else affected.
