getting angry at us.

Ok here is the current world

<a picture of the world tectonic plates>

Here is Pangea

<a picture that everyone has probably seen before of what the earth is suspected of looking like when all the continents were in one mass>

How do you think it got from Pangea to the modern day map?

THe earth has quakes... it has and it will as long as we have a somewhat liquid magma under us. We are on a fairly thin crust riding on it.

44. Hey it is really recent that this crazy concept

from fantasy of a multiverse has made it's way onto physics. Trust me, the physics version makes most fantasy writers flights of fancy look almost normal.

Oh and string theory is really WEIRD... quantum theory, oh boy.

I am still smiling at some of them posts... we need to stop continental drift, yep, let's nail them down!

I know some rubes that actually would not get the joke though.

Yet another bullet point in the old CV.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I graduated in 1976...I knew about continental drift all the way back then.

Anyone who's watched more than one Dinosaur special knows about the Drift.

Volcanoes on Discovery. The Ring of Fire on PBS. any show about evolution: the god of liberalism...

How can anyone NOT know about this?!! The woman is insufferable.

We have as much chance of stopping continental drift as we do affecting the earth's climate.

The chance of doing either is about as great as the chance nutcase nadin understands string theory or quantum mechanics.

Somebody, much smarter than little ole me, little ole humble me, is having a blast being this figment of a persona.  It is by far the best Mole and Troll I have ever seen and witnessed.  Whoever that is here, and I think they are here cause there are some incredibly smart people here - kudos.  It is the best work ever.  I am amazed.  I am in awe.

Tectonic plates: Those are the nicer, thicker, printed paper plates Nadin puts out when company comes. :-)

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I still think it's Gaia, I need more condescension from nadin to convince me otherwise.

Someone should slip 'teutonic plates' into a post and see if she picks up on it.

What are the special brand of plates Nadin brings to the buffet, Alex?

It's hard to say whether she'd end up in a collection of Deutsche Gramophon recordings, or an article on the Teller mines of the Wehrmacht, when she C&Ps that one into Teh Google.
