Libyan Rebels Launch Assault Into Tripoli,Gadhafi's Son Captured.

Libyan rebels have entered their nation's capitol and engaged in heavy fighting with forces remaining loyal to Moammar Gadhafi. In what appears to be the decisive moments of the rebel's six month bid to oust the dictator Sen. John McCain states "Gadhafi will be gone within hours." Time will tell, if rebels can amass enough of their numbers from outlying regions to press the attack then the end may indeed be soon. In any event the jig seems to finally be up for the 41 year regime.
The real question now is where will Libya go from here. Can this rebel army form a popular government and effectively lead as liberators or will Libya degenerate into chaos and sharia law?

Well, well.

And just a few days ago, it looked as if Khaddafi were winning.

I don't care either way, who wins, but this is an excellent example of how quickly things can change in wars, from near-defeat to victory, from near-victory to defeat.

NATO, Barry, McLame -- who Reuters calls a "foreign policy expert"  :whatever: -- cannot take any sort of credit for whatever happens as a result of Barry's war.

Kaddafi is a despicable shitstained monster, but we're no closer knowing who the hell is opposing him now than before.

Interesting news. Not sure it is as big as Bin Dead getting one in the dome, but Fox, and CNN are all over it. MSNBC drops the ball as usual. "Caught on Camera" is what they're broadcasting. There I was thinking MSNBC would have a thrill running up their leg with this kind of "revolution," and "freedom for the people." momentous news breaking.

Damn right this is Barry's war.

I've been wondering over most of the summer about the sudden media blackout on this here in the states. Maybe not a complete blackout but darn near completely off the radar. Big big news at first when the media was trying to portray THE ONE as Mr. Statesman Extraordinaire but once he commenced to flip flopping like a trout in a canoe while the U.N. and the Europeans pulled a Chinese fire drill, POOF-GONE, no longer news worthy apparently.

I'm still half waiting for Shrillary to be trotted out to take a bow if this thing looks like it might go "favorably for the west". Not likely. More probably the usual firing squads, festivities and looting for awhile until the Islamic hard liners can affirm their grip like we've seen in Egypt.

Free or sharia. One or the other, they can't have both.

Yep, thanks to Obama allmost all of the moderate islamic states are gone. Across the water from Europe is now a solid front of terrorist supporting islamic fundamentalist states: Egypt, Tunisia, and now Libya.
With Turkey going islamic, and Syria soon to be there, Israel and Europe will have a solid wall of hate and murder to face down.

But Obama embraces this, because islam only wants to love us all. to death.

Wait for it.  Obama distanced himself from this, so as not to be blamed for starting war #3, and passed the blame to NATO (which is primarily funded by the USA), but, if Gadhafi has in fact been driven from Libya, Obama's speech will be full of I, I, I, I, and more I. 
There was even a thread at DU pondering what kind of poll bounce President 7 Iron will get out of this, but, it was quickly scrubbed.  Anyone looking for a job won't give 2 flying sh!ts in 3 days, so, dream on you Marxists. 
I despise the liberals who hate our military, unless it serves their political furtherance.  Phew.  Needed to get that off my chest.  Thanks for the venue to do so.

The only people this will be "Decisive" for are Colonel MO and his family.  The elements who are most hostile to the West in Libya are also the elemtents that are the best-organized and most ruthless.  People who are ideologically committed to democracy tend to not do "Highly-organized and ruthless" very well.  Along with the rest of north coastal Africa, the place is going to turn into a graveyard of good intentions gone wrong.

Look on t6he bright side: Once all those countries have gone Islamic and joined the "Cali-fat" (caliphate) we can bomb hell out of them anywhere. As it is now, terrorist can hit us and there is only an ideology to bomb. Once they are organized under one ruler, then all Islamic countries become fair game.

Ayup... One by one each square on the map surrounding Israel is turning back from being modern societies to the dark ages. Just look at Egypt, recently heralded ostensibly as throwing off the yoke of a dictatorship and "yearning to breathe free". Ya right, whatever. Isn't exactly raining skittles there now is it?

It is however raining rockets and artillery shells on southern Israel and not all of them are originating in Gaza, plenty are coming from Egypt as well. "Arab Spring" me lily white Irish arse!

Reminds of the spring of 1980. I remember my uncle came by the house and we were all standing out in the driveway. He pointed out that the dark gray cloud layer way up at about 30,000 ft was actually the ash of Mt. St. Helens drifting by from two thousand miles to the west.

I certainly hope it doesn't happen but if really pressed I don't think Israel would hesitate, if it came right down to it. Before it's all said and done we may see some of these Arab states drift by at 30,000 ft.  :popcorn:
