I do not think this country could survive a Romney or Perry Presidency

And I think we have a 50/50 chance.

What the Congress and the President are doing will only hurt the economy more. And we know what comes out of this super committee will be devastating to working people. So Obama is setting himself up for a very tough race.
If we get a GOP POTUS we are toast. And Dems seem to want to help.

I'm not thrilled with either one of those but, I am sure they can do better than 0bama has.
In just under three years 0bama took us from a triple A credit rating to a double A. Now to be fair 0bama didn't do this himself he had help from Pelosi and Reid, but he is the President and he is responsible.

If we can manage to survive until 2013 and start with a new President then we may have a chance, but if Mr Hope and Change gets another 4 years it's over.
I believe it was Jefferson who was asked what kind of govt we were going to have and he said, "A Republic, for as long as you can keep it". It looks like we managed to keep it for only about 235 years, which I suppose in the scheme of things is a long time.

1. I think they have no chance. None.

But that's just me.

3. Heard that we would keep Congress in 2010

how did that turn out.

Heard GWB had no chance. None.
Another win for us.

Don't forget that the Dems were going to retake the WI senate last Tuesday.  :rotf:

2. I'm wondering if this country could survive any presidency...

Hell, even FDR couldn't save this place now...

Considering the damage that FDR did it was a pure miracle that we made it out of that one.

11. Are you kidding me? We survived little george; thus, we can survive anything.

Yep those horrible Bush days of unemployment under 6%.  :whatever:
If we had a president doing that bad of a job today, we would be celebrating.

Watching the wailing of DUmmies only makes it that much sweeter when Nov. 2012 comes and Barry Big Ears gets his pink slip from the people of the United States.

Your quote was from Franklin, not Jefferson.

Unemployment is over 10%, underemployment is around 20%, the stock market sucks, our AAA rating was downgraded, the States have no money, and you're saying if the GOP wins we're toast?

Oops I did say I believed it was Jefferson, so that's my excuse.  :-)

Damn. I really wish Algore had gotten busy and invented the internets a few years earlier. Can you imagine how the DUmmies would have
been squealing about Ronald Reagan in 1979-80? Of course, we heard the network news organizations squealing about him every day
during those years, but it wasn't moonbats 24/7, just a half-hour a day

Mitt, they could live with.
Perry, not so much.
I have other personal perferences.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

8. I have to agree with you! I think we've gone over the edge, and if the R's
get the presidency in 2012 IMO we're headed for a theocratic dystopia. There are IMO too many of the faithful herd that would jump right on the bandwagon for an evangelist if they twisted the messaging just right.

Logic pales in the 'new' America, and often Americans vote in their worst interest. I hope some country is willing to accept refugees in 2012. I just don't see a rosy picture for most Americans. Those with the cornered wealth are going to do just fine and they won't even notice a theocratic dystopia.

Why do they always say this?  DUmbass, conservatives revere the Constitution.  As written, period.  There will be no state religion, ever, ever, ever.

Refugees.  They have no idea what that means, or what it's like to live like one.
