What I'll never understand about divided government

The people voted en masse for Obama in 2008 - for four years and yes they also voted for a Democratic house and Senate. Democrats retained the Senate in 2010 so on what basis do ReTHUGS scream that they were voted into office in 2010 - they won one chamber of the Legislative Branch.

Democratics control the Executive Branch and the Senate - who the fugg are these RETHUGS to be acting as if they control three branches of government?

1. It works for them.

It's that simple.

If the Democrats fought back, things would be different.

I think some of the Dems are waking up to the fact that, if they keep going the way they were that they too will be helping stimulate the economy by collecting unemployment checks soon.

3. Ever watch a family where the screaming spoiled brat controls everyone?

That is how I see the Tea Party. They are the ones who are willing to scream for no reason, make up lies, and do absolutely anything to get their way. I've seen three year olds with more self control and a better sense of what is realistic than this crowd of baby politicians.

0bama must be part of the Tea party then.

4. Fascists.

They don't believe in democracy. They believe in my way or we destroy the economy.

Our founders didn't believe in democracy, that is why we have a republic.
If we did have a democracy, and everything was majority rule, you goons would either have to get jobs or starve.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Oh, the malarial primitive is just being stupid on purpose.

Read the Constitution.

The House of Representatives, not the Senate, not the White House, not the Supreme Court, initiates taxes and spending.  True, such measures have to pass the Senate and get signed by the White House, but all such bills have to start in the House.

The Republicans at the moment control the House.

Tough shit to the malarial primitive, who obviously doesn't remember how the squalid greasy old Tipsy O'Neill, (D) Speaker of the House, held Ronald Reagan hostage and obstructed much of the good he was trying to do, despite that the Republicans had the White House and the Senate.

What goes around, comes around.

Tough shit to the malarial primitive, who's just being stupid on purpose.

Because the Democrats haven't done a thing to help the country since taking power.  We're just trying to actually do something.

Seems to be working exactly as it was designed and if a GOP congress was getting too buck-wild and pissed-off the US electorate I would expect teh same thing to happen to a GOP president...just like it did in 2006.

But then again I take my view of the history of the US Constitution from the Federalist Papers, not Howard Zinn.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Because the House of Representatives is a better gauge at how the nation leans politically, DUmbasses. Hence why it's the only body that can actually increase in size by numbers.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
