That's my take too. Last century I worked security during college at a plasma center in Mpls. 99% of the "donors" were whacked out, talking to themselves bums. This DUmmy fits right in arguing with the wacko's.
IIRC in the big city's years ago there were blood banks most every few blocks. One would sell blood for a few bucks, enough money to buy booze or tobacco or some pin joints.
Come the mid 1980's it was all or most all Plasma due to Aids. Those that did sell whole blood in the 1990's faced close down if the blood was not tested for diseases of all kinds.----They some of them, did sell whole blood and gambol on just a few people dieing of whatever.
It was not now just Bums but college students and the medical students were lined up to donate sperm at the clinics for infertile centers ironically across from Abortion Clinics.
Anyone remember when most states demanded a blood test for Syphilis before a marriage license could be issued???? States kept track of the reported people by doctors that identified those patients with the disease??? No privacy laws at that time, goes back to people that that could spread a deadly disease.
Once Aids came into the factor, suddenly those of wealth or political connected went on a rampage to protect patients rights when they or those connected to them had a family member that they did not want to be exposed.
Privacy of patients is great, however I would on the other hand not want to dine at a restaurant where the cooks have TB, Aids or Typhoid, Collera, or a Staff Infection.
