What is LinkedIn, and from where does it originate? Is it associated with FaceBook, because if so I dumped that place months ago.

I've received several emails asking me to join some people I know on LinkedIn.  :???:

It's a job/career networking board, like Facebook without the fun and games.

It's not affiliated with Facebook.

I'll keep doing what I've done - ignore the messages.

Because other people that have your email address did a search for people they know from their address books.
