Local Afghani Girl Stabbed

Rochester N.Y. Breaking news~
Local news here is reporting a mother found her 13 year old daughter in their garage, stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest. She is presently in emergency surgery in critical condition.

This neighborhood is in the 'burbs, far from the stabbings and shootings which occur in the city every day and night.
The family moved here from Afghanistan five years ago. Nothing more is known at this time.

UPDATE~

The victim was stabbed by her cousin who lives next door to her in the same duplex apartment. Details are still rather sketchy so it is unclear if this was an attempted "honor killing" or just a case of a lunatic going 'round the bend.

In local T.V. news coverage yesterday and today there was not a man in sight as the families were interviewed, no "man of the house", father of the victim, etc. Apparently these two families who emigrated here from Afghanistan five years ago are comprised of just women and children. Must be a war story in there somewhere but we'll have to wait for the trial to get the whole picture of what happened here.

Judging the mug shot and the smug look on the perp's face with a strong resemblance to Jared Laughner I'm leaning towards "lunatic went 'round the bend" but won't be shocked if the "honor killing" angle comes out in the future.

Well, FreeBorn, I personally think anyone guilty of a dishonor killing is also a frikkin' nutjob lunatic who went around the bend.
