Does anyone else feel like Ginsburg is holding on too long?
I think she should have retired with Souter. Imagine if Obama some how loses and she has to step down w/ a republican in office. That is a scary scenario.

(Would you hurry up and retire so the one could appoint your successor! To be fair, most of the comments are trending toward let her stay as long as she wants to but there are some jewels in the heap...)

9. No way.
She is a national treasure and is entitled to stay on the court as long as she can. However, I do believe she will retire during Obama's next term to keep the seat in the democrats' hands.

(Huh?? Supreme Court seats are partisan - when did that become official?)

10. She looks very frail
and I agree that she should step aside while we have a Democratic president to name her replacement.
President Obama is by no means guaranteed to win re-election and I do not want to run the risk of the SC tilting even more rightward.

(Hurry up!)

She does look very frail, but on the other hand she has looked that way for the past 15 or so years.

She probably would retire if, and this is a huge 'if,' the Obamessiah got a second term.

She's had bouts with colon cancer during her time on the SCOTUS.  It wouldn't surprise me if it flared back up.

That could be pretty entertaining, in a trainwreck kind of way.  Of course trainwrecks are a lot more entertaining if you're not chained to the pilot of the lead locomotive and watching it from there.

Hope you don't mind, FaC. I added quote tags to your post.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
