BernieSandersIsGod (110 posts) Mon Jun-20-11 09:42 PMOriginal message Does anyone else feel like Ginsburg is holding on too long? I think she should have retired with Souter. Imagine if Obama some how loses and she has to step down w/ a republican in office. That is a scary scenario.
femmocrat (1000+ posts) Mon Jun-20-11 10:11 PMResponse to Original message 9. No way. She is a national treasure and is entitled to stay on the court as long as she can. However, I do believe she will retire during Obama's next term to keep the seat in the democrats' hands.
rury (345 posts) Mon Jun-20-11 10:12 PMResponse to Original message 10. She looks very frail and I agree that she should step aside while we have a Democratic president to name her replacement.President Obama is by no means guaranteed to win re-election and I do not want to run the risk of the SC tilting even more rightward.
woolldog (1000+ posts) Mon Jun-20-11 11:23 PMResponse to Original message 18. She's waiting until.... a Democrat is President. Then she will retire.
She does look very frail, but on the other hand she has looked that way for the past 15 or so years.
If a third party reelects the muslim, get ready for Justice McKinney.
There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
