I lived in the Bundesrepublik for several years, and about half my ancestors are one variety or another of squarehead. IMHO, despite all the post-War peace and love indoctrination, deep down inside, Germans are still the same stubborn rockheads that they have always been. It's not a good idea to royally piss them off, and they really, really don't naturally tend to respond to a bitchslap the same way the French, Spanish, or Italians do.
