OK, OK, OK, I get it. She ****ed a married man. She's a home-wrecker and deserves whatever misery comes her way.
I know all the moral indignation that will poured out on her. The slattern, the hussy, the whore.
She should contract HIV, HPV and any other set of letters that can be sexually transmitted and if the viruses don't get her we can stone her to make sure the job is polished off nicely.
I got it.
But there is also a child. An innocent child I might add, that is a victim of the circumstances thrust upon it through not fault of its own.
A child that needs to learn that even when mistakes are made people should make the best effort to remediate those mistakes and show loyalty, affection and the other virtues we would hope to impart to the next generation.
Edwards could have just manned-up to his mistakes, even "repented" if so inclined and gone on to be a better father than what he had been before.
He could have.
Instead he is still a self-absorbed ass more interested in his "reputation" than in the feelings of his supposed life-love and their child:
'He screamed at Rielle, calling her an idiot for not destroying the tape, and yelling that she made a fool of him for talking him into making it,' a source told the National Enquirer.
'Rielle was in tears, and tried to apologize, but John didn't care.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1388360/John-Edwards-rages-mistress-Rielle-Hunter-destroying-sex-tape.htmlOr he could have not made the tape.
Or not screwed around.
But it's her fault.
Hell, for all we know: misbegotten though it may be, perhaps, just perhaps, Ms. Hunter has a genuine affection for Edwards. If so I don't see her as being guilty of adultery nearly as much as a capital degree of bad taste.
Still, this is how he repays her loyalty and affection to him.
And yet, he was supposed to have been a good liberal becasue--well--he's so selfless and caring.
