DUmmies Discuss Chocolate Chip Cookies.....No, Really
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:21:42 PM »
A whiny, bitchy post by the brain-damaged DUmbass unexpectedly turns into one of the funniest threads in days! I was reading through it, getting progressively more irritated at the whining pussies, and suddenly found myself reading some hilarious gems:

I bought a bag of Chip's Ahoy today, it's been a couple of years
They used to be a paper bag with resealable folding wire closures with two rows in separate bags and weighed 22.5 oz.

Today, a plastic bah with the 'resealable' adhesive top, 15.25 oz. and no individual wrappers on the rows of cookies. They are thinner and don't taste as good. And they cost $2.99, more than the old-style bag used to be on sale for only two years ago.
The world is going to hell in a hand basket........

Chocolate candy bars used to my thing. Not the more expensive stuff I buy today, but the stuff from my childhood. REESE'S Peanut Butter Cups, Heath and Almond Joy's[sic]. The reward for many a days[sic] hard labor when I was a child. Now they're either nasty tasting or tiny or both. It's been at least a decade since I was able to buy one and let the old familiar flavors walk me down memory lane.

10. They also have HFCS in them now.
I don't believe that was the case when I ate them as a kid. Shame. So many things just aren't the same anymore.

You "don't believe", DUmmy, because it's immpossible to tell the difference. HFCS and cane sugar are identical in taste and chemistry. The difference is that one is made by American industry and the other is made by Fidel Castro. I wonder where beet sugar falls in the DUmp's political nutrition list.

I grabbed a bag of Fritos in the store this morning (this is true so help me) without looking at the price...when I got home I looked at the cash register tape and discovered I had paid 3 bucks (2.99 + 9.25% tax to be exact) for 10.5 ounces of fried corn mush strips. I like them but not enough to ever buy them again!

I've bought a bag of Fritos every week for years. Love 'em. I have no idea what they cost.

Here's an idea. The chip companies can vacuum seal chips for the DUmmies.  If there is no air in the bag, the chips crush more easily during shipping. Stooooopid DUmmies.

Real things in life like power, gas, and food are at 15%+ inflation since the boy king started fundamentally changing America.

If Obamy gets another four years the dollar will be worth ten cents and you will only get one chocolate chip cookie for $5.98.  However, I know that the DUmbasses will vote for him no matter how bad things are and that somehow, some way the Obama's regime of incompetence will be Bush's fault.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

There are cookie recipes that require no baking and take about 5 minutes to put together. I have a peanut butter cup recipe that is to die for and only requires about a minute to melt the chocolate chip/peanut butter top layer.

BTW, it's been more then a couple of years since he bought them. I don't buy them regularly either since I usually either make them homemade or those ones in the fridge section on occasion.  I say that though because I don't recall the wrappers on the rows since at least the mid-90's if not earlier...a couple of years ago my hiney. Everything else is indeed happening ie the smaller portion, but why would a dummie have a problem with this anyway since I'm sure they are all aboard the obesity train ala Michelle O. and nasty chemicals in that kind of stuff anyway. *the mind wonders*

LOL!
I was just going to point out, for all the DUmmies complaining that cookies and candy bars and other such things are thinner and don't taste as good, they should just keep in mind that, similar to what's happening with McDonald's, the snack food companies are under a lot of pressure from ultra- liberal health- food Nazis like Moo- chelle to decrease portion sizes and cut out certain ingredients in the name of "Fighting child obesity." So, once again, liberals are whining about something that their own views and policies caused.

Nobody has jumped on this one for the "elitest" comment regarding the chocolate he(she) buys today?!?  :o

Too good to buy a Rees-y Cup or Heath Bar or Almond Joy, these days? Talk about Anti-American!!!

I'm not much of a peanut butter fan, but I buy Reese's Cups for M as he's always liked them and he hasn't complained about them. I have always liked Heath Bars, and they still taste the same to me.

None of the traditional Hershey or Mars product candy bars are the same size they were when I was a kid or even when my kids were little, but of the ones I have always liked and bought, they still taste the same.

Want!!!

Mom's Peanut Butter Cup Bars
(The key to these is cheap peanut butter and good quality chocolate chips)

1 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups peanut butter, divided
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Melt butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Add graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and 1 cup peanut butter. Spread in 9X13 in. pan.

Microwave remaining chocolate chips and peanut butter until chips are melted, stirring every 30 seconds. I just use the same bowl I mixed the bottom layer in. I don't even bother rinsing it out since the flavors are going to blend anyway. Spread chocolate/peanut butter mixture over graham cracker crumb layer.

Refrigerate.

I followed the link for the old time candy. Their watermelon coconut candy looks nothing like it did when I was a kid. It looked like this, but was 1/2 round.

My recipe is almost the same, but I've been doing them in mini cupcake liners/pans, with a small chocolate layer on the bottom, then the peanut butter, then more chocolate. Takes forever!

I'm going to start doing them in a 9x13 like you do, Cindie.  Cut them into small squares and THEN put them in the mini cupcake liner!!! H5 from me for a super time-saver!!  :blowkiss:
