Pull the troops back and retarget.

We need to pull our troops back from overseas.
We need to let the world know that any terrorist attack on the USA will be met with a nuke i retaliation.
We need to declare ALL criminal gangs as domestic or foreign terrorists and use out military might against them.
We need mandatory physical education in the schools and encourage two years of service to the country for every high school graduate.
We need to free Mexico and Columbia from the control of the cartels. and Venezuela from control of Chavez.
We need to free the USA from control of the leftists/communists and those cowards that compromise with them.
We need to drill for oil in our own country and off our own coast.
We need nuclear and wind power.
We need to send illegal immigrants out of the USA.

Nuclear retaliaton for terrorism is like burning down all the houses on the next block with everyone inside because a dog that hangs out over there pissed on your flowers.  A lot of people are going to think you're too dangerous to be allowed to live, and you won't even be sure you got the damn' dog.

Encourage some sort of service, not always military in nature.
Nukes, sure. We use radiation to burn cancers. We find the training base. Fry the base. If not nukes, MOAB or MOANaplam.

You realize, of course, that in the eyes of the rest of the world, if we used nukes to settle every affront then every other nation will assume that will be our first and only response.

That means anything that has even the slightest chance to gain the ire of the US should be preempted by a strategic surprise attack on the US.

We aren't the only ones with nukes and those who have them should feel confident the US will act reasonably and with great deliberation. Its the fact that Iran is run by apocalyptic nut jobs that we fear their joining the nuclear club, as opposed to Israel who acts with the moderation expected of a civilized society.


And while I'm in favor of a draft in times of dire need the idea of compulsory service simply for the fact of having been born in the US strikes me as 1) logistically ridiculous 2) poor for the morale of the professionals 3) a drain on readiness 4) unconstitutional and 5) un-American



Pity this wasn't a set-up.
