I saw a sad sign at Dennys tonight

Edited on Sat Apr-23-11 07:55 AM by SoCalDem
We are boycotting the bowling alley food, since they raised the prices so high (hotdog, 4 or 5 fries & a large drink is now $7.94), so we ate at Denny's on the way home.

At the check out was a sign that read:

If you have any extra change, please donate for food for our seniors at the Senior Center

I asked the hostess if Dennys took food to them, and she said no, but we do display their collection jar & sign and deliver the money to them weekly.

1. Charity begins at home, but not at Denny's.

Just how much have you donated?
I would think you would love this. Denny's is helping people out with other people's money.
That is liberalism in a nutshell.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

I saw a sign at Denny's last night.

It said, "Baconalia"!

I never felt so warm and happy and proud to live in this great country, as I did at that moment. Suck it, DUmmies.

Since Obama and his reign of incompetence seniors have gotten ZERO COLAS and real inflation has been running at 8-10%. Oh, the 111th and Obumbler cut $500 billion out of medicare for the take over of the health care industry too.

That's some old fashioned liberal charity.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

...and the DUmmie took his 3 cents change and.....dropped it in his pocket.

The DUmmies are so sad that the folks at Denny's won't give food to the needy or the senior citizens at the senior center?  They can blame their own liberalism.

Denny's has probably been told by their lawyers to not give food to any needy person.  I mean, if Denny's is pushing all-things bacon these days, the rest of their food must be loaded with sodium, trans-fats, and preservatives, which are poison to the nanny state liberals.

And going hungry is way better for folks than eating all that junk anyway.

10. I know so well. It started for me when I was in my early60s. I'd look out the window and
see the wide world and wish I could be free to go out and be in it.

It wasn't until I was much older that I could do that, but even now that is endangered. I don't know how long my luck or my money will last but I can't worry about it. I save lots of money in different ways But I can't save enough to make my budget work.

And your money woes are about to get a whole lot worse, as your new Democrat governor, along with the Democrat state legislature, is going to tax the SHIT out of you.

12. If I didn't have my National Senior Network job, I'd be screwed
Going to school full time and working part time is keeping my head above water. Other than that, I have no one to rely on.

Remember the perpetual student?  She's in her twilight years, and wondering what she wants to be when she grows up.  It was either counselor, or art teacher.

Yep it's easier to ignore the issue from home because it's not put in front of you. I wonder how much this person has donated before? It'd be interesting to know.

There was one of those money boxes at the local store for a family in an effort to raise money for a wheel chair for there son. I dropped a 50 in the box because I could. Same with the local animal shelter, I buy them several large bags of cat/dog food and other stuff every week.

The problem is the only charity most people contribute to are those boxes, for the sole reason of dumping pennies to lighten their pockets.

Denny's could donate to the Senior Center, but in order to keep paying their staff a living wage while covering their expenses, they'd have to charge $7.94 for a hotdog, 4 or 5 fries & a large drink.

IIRC, VP Slow Joe Biden in 2009 donated almost $300 to charity.

Typical liberal: "Quick somebody give their money to that person."

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

The DUmmies and liberals believe in this as long as if it's someone else's money they are using.
