So if you wanna vote for a businessman mentality then ya better be ready to think like a businessman

You don't just cut costs to oblivion. You increase revenue.

The feds, to increase revenue, can do only one thing.

RAISE TAXES

The only question then, is on who?

That part's easy.

Next . . . . . ?

Cost cutting?

Easy.

DoD.

Next . . . . . ?

2. Try to explain this to my "Libertarian" boss...

He voted for Perot, Forbes and said he's voting for Trump. Thinks the country needs to be run like a business. I asked him yesterday which business we should run the country like. No answer...just walked out of the room. So, I followed him, "No. Seriously. GM? Exxon? Should we model our country after big oil or auto manufacturers? Maybe insurance companies."

He's a great guy, otherwise.

4. Government is not a business

If it were, the most efficient way to run it would simply be to go door to door and steal everything at the point of a gun, as, being the government, you'd be the only one allowed to do it and no one could stop you.

The aims of every business include personal gain. The aim of government should never include personal gain.

Whoa.

If so, how come so many Dems, liberals, and primitive politicians have gotten so wealthy being public "servants"?

Anyway, il primitivo marito che brillantini appears to be on better-balanced meds today.

Lets just turn the country over to the stereotypical joooo...tell him here's X number of dollars, run the country and you can have what's left over.

DUmmies and old hippies would be hauling US government tit sucking, job taking, illegal aliens to the border by the VW Bus load.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

What business gets to raise revenue by sticking a gun in your face and demanding ever-increasing shares of your fair earnings?

I'm beginning to really detest how the DUmbasses have started using the prefectly good word "primary" as a verb.
It isn't a verb. It's an adjective, which is sometimes used as a noun. It's never a verb. DUmmies are really stupid.

Hey now.

You're just finding that out?

How long's it going to take you, sir, to realize the primitives are pretentious, too?

RAISE TAXES

Let's say the fed has the tax rate at 20% and 5 people in the country are able to operate a business. Each make $100 per year. After the taxes are collected the government has $100. The government actually has TWO options. The first is yours. So let's say the government increases the tax rate to 30%. This increase cuts into the profit of the businesses forcing 2 to shut down. So at the end of the year the government is taxing only 3 businesses at 30% and is able to collect only $90. Yes, that is indeed a DECREASE even through the tax rate was increased.

Option two has the government lowering the tax rate and easing regulations. Let's say they ease regulations and cut the tax rate to 15%. This allows 2 more people (in addition to the 5) to operate a business. At the end of the year the government would have $105. Yes, that is indeed an INCREASE even though the tax rate was decreased.

Of course I suppose my math could be wrong. Or maybe 2 + 2 does = potato.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Actually, you did a very good job in describing the situation.
You only messed up with the math.
2 + 2 = Twomato
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
