Joe Biden May Have Nodded Off During Obama's Debt Speech
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:08:29 PM »
Today, President Obama countered GOP deficit reduction proposals by offering to slash $4 trillion over the next twelve years in a heavily-hyped speech. And, naturally, his right hand man, the Vice President, goes and changes the narrative of the day from "who has a better vision for America's fiscal future" to the easier to digest headline of "Hey, look, Biden is sleeping while the president drones on about an almost incomprehensible amount of money."

Yep, Biden sure looks like he was asleep. Here's the ABC news video, screenshot above, of the Vice President nodding off for a solid 30 seconds (when the clip ends). As the network noted, the woman behind him looks a little bit drowsy also:

Ho-hum...nothing important being said....and he really doesn't mean it.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Hey, that's no woman ... that's little Timmy Geithner!  I know it's hard to tell the difference though.

A big chunk of that "Reduction" is supposed to come from "Savings" in Medicare by "Reducing the cost of services."  In other words, it's total bullshit that couldn't possibly really happen in this particular space-time continuum.

But if you rush them into the next realm, it'll cause a large savings in this realm....and that's the plan.

When they start talking about cuts it's always; Medicare rather than Medicaid, Social Security rather than Social Security Disability, Welfare is off the table, Cops, Firemen, Teachers, rather than bee subsidies, farm subsidies, or the myriad other stupid shit our government feels is 'necessary'.

This is not to mention the American public has been conditioned to believe a "cut in spending increases" means an actual cut in spending.  Our government ran just on the same money last year but if we don't give them INCREASES in spending they have to shut down?  What the hell!

No respect meant toward Vice President Biden, but I'm sure he's heard far more intelligent and engaging speakers in his 30+ years of whoring for a government paycheck public service than the current lackluster occupant of the Oval Office.
