The BarackStar! is feeling the heat.  I don't know why, because there is virtually no way he won't
win the nomination, and perhaps this is a signal that he can't handle the pressure;  but this is a definite
turn for "nastier".

and hillary assails The BarackStar! for attacking her with right wing talking points. :-)  does that sound
exactly like the DUmp, or what?

Quote
OBAMA: 'SHAME ON HER!'

From NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan and NBC's Mark Murray
At a United Steel Workers union hall tonight, filled with steel workers, Obama launched on his own "shame on you" tirade against Clinton, for hitting him hard and repeatedly on his comments that small town Pennsylvanians "cling to guns," and religion and anti-immigrant sentiment because government hasn't served them.

Clinton, who over the past two days has touted her family's roots in Scranton, PA as working class and church-going, has also portrayed herself as a defender of the 2nd Amendment. Tonight, Obama questioned her commitment, saying that her espousal of the issue was politics at work and said she was trying to appear like "Annie Oakley."

"Now, I have to admit that I expected some of this out of John McCain. John McCain said I was out of touch, he said I was being condescending and elitist, 'people aren't bitter.' And I'm thinking to myself, 'Here's a guy, it took him three tries before he actually came up with a plan to deal with the millions of people who are about to lose their homes because of foreclosure, who wants to perpetuate the Bush tax cuts."

"And he's saying I'm out of touch. Do you think I'm out of touch or do you think he's out of touch?! So I expected this out of John McCain. But I've gotta say, I'm a little disappointed when I start hearing the exact same talking points coming out of my Democratic colleague Hillary Clinton. She knows better. She knows better! Shame on her! Shame on her! She knows better!"

"She's running around talking about how this is an insult to sportsmen, how she values the 2nd Amendment, she's talkin like she's Annie Oakley! Hillary Clinton's out there like she's on the duck blind every Sunday. She's packin' a six shooter! C'mon!  She knows better. That's some politics being played by Hillary Clinton! I want to see that picture of her out there in the duck blinds. Haha. Ya know, c'mon. When Hillary Clinton says I'm out of touch I just have to remind people of the track record."

Clinton spokesman Phil Singer responded with this statement: "For months, Barack Obama and his campaign have relentlessly attacked Hillary Clinton's character and integrity by using Republican talking points from the 1990s. The shame is his. Sen. Clinton does know better -- she knows better than to condescend and talk down to voters like Senator Obama did."

"Senator Obama’s outburst won't change the fact that he has embraced his characterization of the millions of Americans who live in small towns," he added.

She has character and integrity?

Since when?

But then again Obama ain't exactly overflowing with them either.

In fact he is much further to the left than she is from what I have heard.

now The BarackStar! is totally off message, and completely off balance.  not to mention that
"shame on her" looks neither unifying nor particularly healing. :whatever:

I don't expect bittergate to hurt him any more that wrightgate (which was not at all), but
at least we get to see how he performs under stress, which is useful.

i used to really salivate at the idea of Hilary being 'their guy' in the general so all of her dirty Clinton laundry would finally come out.. but now.. i am sort of salivating in taking on the Number One Liberal in the Senate and airing out all his dirty laundry for the country to see.

at this point, i cant decide which one of them will be easier to defeat..  but McCain will have to screw up pretty badly to be defeated by either of these two clowns.

oh i disagree.. i think wrightgate hurt him to a high degree.. michelle obama has been virtually sent into hiding after all that cause she was echoing all of Wright's ideologies by telling women not to shoot for corporate careers and to stay in the 'helping fields' ..

Obama has been damaged and his latest faux paus about bitterness is going to hurt him yet again.

although, Hilary cant help but keep being stupid and lying all the time..

McCain is looking better all the time to a lot of Dems I know.. simply because he doesnt embarass himself or us on a daily basis.

he was a machine politician in chicago for years and year.  there's no way his closet doesn't have more skeletons in it than a graveyard.

he hasn't been hurt among his base;  the cranks, greens, vegans, and metrosexuals that control the dem primary process actually agree with what wright said.

it won't help him in the general, but it remains to be seen how much it hurts him.  I simply don't buy the national mccain vs. obama poll numbers right now;  the public is manifestly awful at predicting what they will think about hypothetical or future situations.  until it actually gets here, they usually can't tell you what they think with any degree of reliability.

^ditto. The American public is easily swayed and has the attention span of that fish in Finding Nemo. November is far, far away and most folks will only recall the sound bites the MSM deems "santized for your protection". I have little faith in the sheeple. I hate to sound so negative, but the American public is too focused on American Idol.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

the 527s could easily overplay this, as well.  some of these topics, the wright thing, for example, need to be handled subtlety, rather than with a nuclear weapon, or the blowback could be fierce.

agreed. They (the media) already beat these stories to death. You can lose your audience after a certain saturation point.

this isn't a big deal, I am sure, what you don't hunt ducks with six shooters.

but it does bring to mind another failed elmer fudd type:

I understand that his hunting companion had to strangle the thing to death.
