Government Shutdowns
« on: April 06, 2011, 11:25:15 PM »
Do you think we may see a second government shut down this year like in 1995? The longest one happened in late 1995 to early 1996 and lasted 21 days. Also, how long do you think it will last for.

Hard to say; I was working in DOD civil service in 95 and ended up working anyway, I don't remember whether I was deemed 'Essential' then or if I just came in because I had shit to do that wouldn't wait.  It didn't seem that long in retrospect, though.  Anyway, the world didn't end.

Did it really go on for 21 days? I could of swore it was like 2 or 3.
Then again, it didn't affect me since us in the military got our pay.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
