Garth Brooks is an idiot and worried about his own wealth.  Quite a few years ago, when he still put out music, he said that he would never tour China because of music piracy there. He didn't say one word about their human rights violations.

Scratch another one off my list....but the one that hurt the most was Junior Johnson, NASCAR driver of my teenage years. Yes, he and his wife both supported and voted for Obama.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

I've always felt Brooks was a self serving poser so no surprise there but Junior Johnson? Whoa, that's an eye opener. How an old 'shiner like Johnson, the epitome of self reliance, liberty and loathing for government oversight ever possibly support a socialist like Soetoro?!  :thatsright:

The weird thing is he was performing at a Bush event at the Kennedy Center when he said this. Another wishy washy middle of the roader who needs to get off the fence and choose a side.

Well, this will be the Death knell of Garth Brooks......

I don't think that the Dixie Chicks have truly bounced back from their Bush Bashing. I don't know as I don't listen to that much country music.

Screw Chris Gaines.
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Natalie Maines was ditched by the other two members of the Dixie Chicks. They formed a group called The Courtyard Hounds, IIRC.

I think Junior needs to go see his doctor, he might have the early symptoms of Alzheimer's....
As for Garth, no big loss, his music sucked anyway. Just another has-been trying to stay relevant.

Maybe he's just trying to stir up controversy in hopes that it gets more people to his shows at the Wynn.  If I recall, Garth Brooks still performs there.  I *THINK* he was signed to an eight year contract.. maybe longer.  Not sure how many Japanese & European tourists want to listen to his music though.
