I have decided to close FreeConservatives effective April 10th, 2011. I don't have the time to devote to running this site anymore, and much of the help I used to get is no longer interested in keeping the site functional. I considered handing over the site to others but with the depths to which many of the discussions on this site have sunk, I would prefer not to have the FC name associated with them. My apologies to those of you who were anxiously awaiting the results of the cleanup efforts on this site. There just weren't enough of us available to be here at all of the times necessary to make that effort come to fruition. I wish I could recommend some other conservative discussion site that had decent standards of behavior, but this malady seems to have affected us all. Most who had a desire to preserve rational, adult behavior have either closed their forums to new members or closed their forums entirely.

Despite ending on a sour note, I can truly say that I have enjoyed my time with FC, from the beginning days as just another member at the Townhall forums, to an admin for Warlady on her forum and on to being the owner when Warlady could no longer run the site. I made a lot of friends here, and I am truly going to miss a lot of you. It has been an honor.

It's been around 10 years. In fact, it began 10 years ago today. Overall, it was a good site.

I was a member at FC a few years ago. I cannot recall why I left, whether it was voluntary, forced, or booted. There have been so many forums..........
