Should I make this bet?
My brother-in-law is one of those right-wing nutjobs who believes the fairy tales that Fox News spouts everyday. He told me that after 2012, the Republicans would control the House of Reps and the Senate. I told him he was on crack. He offered to bet me $1000. I absolutely do not have $1000, but I sure could use it.

To him, $1000 is play money - he makes $1000 bets all the time (golf and casinos are his life and he has a lot of money). To me, it can be a month of pay. So I'm sure he made the bet without even thinking about it, but to his credit, he would honor it if I accepted it. I can't imagine this country would be so foolish to elect more Republicans after seeing what is going on right now. So should I take the bet?

And in all honesty, he probably wouldn't make me pay if I lost but I'd feel like I had to, even if I had to sell my car. I'd never be able to look at anyone in my family again if I lost a bet and didn't pay. But how could I lose this one? I haven't accepted yet, I told him I needed the weekend to think about it.

I'm a little skeptical of the title's author, but it's the replies that I find interesting.

I bet the office moonbat $100 before he retired, and told him that I'd up it to $1000.  He said no, but he thinks that he's going to win the bet--that Obama will be re-elected.  Even in November of 2012, $100 will buy a fair amount of .22 LR ammo.

We will have to note this some where.  I'd like to read the whiny thread on DU after this guy loses $1,000 to his rich BIL.

LOL at the responses, they aren't so confident. BTW they should bet $500 or $1000 and it goes to the Charity of the winners choice.

That's what a bet is, DUmmie.  You don't know if you are going to win, but you believe you are.  It is called "having skin in the game."

You'd better do it freely now, before Obama makes you.

I won't bet against a DUmmy that Obama will lose in 2012. There still are enough idiots to put him right back in office in 2012.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

For a liberal liar, its an easy question. Make the bet.

If he wins he collects $1000.
If he loses, he just doesn't pay and denies everything. Rules and legal agreements never applied to liberals.

Never bet with a dishonest man. Liberals are dishonest to the core.

While half the idiots are on our side, I don't think that as many of them will vote for the Obamessiah this time around.  He's lost a bunch of the independents, too.  That's what propelled him into the White House.  I think it'll be close in a few areas, but the Republican will pull it out.

And the Left will go absolutely batshit.

Which reminds me.  Seems to me that sometime before GOBUCKS took a powder for awhile, we had a wager on whether or not Nazy Pelosi would keep her job.  I said she would not.  So,

I'm trying to recall that wager.....Anyway, double or nothing - I expect our current President Chumbawamba to become the first foreign national to serve two terms in the White House. The first Communist grandson of a Mau Mau savage with eight years in the Oval Office. (He reminds me of that old song "Blue Moon", with the bass line that goes "Obama ooo Mau Mau".) For two longneck Rolling Rocks. I realize the current wisdom is that he's a one-termer, and Lord knows he should be, but I never discount the ability of the Republican base to cut its own throat.

I saw an article in USA Today, I think, where it was touting Romney's "turn."

If he doesn't get the conservative base, he's toast.

You got that right! Ya know how many of my Conservative friends "forget" to vote? It's disgusting!

However, I think many of them have seen the light! I predict O'bummer is goin' to lose in a landslide, the likes we haven't seen since Reagan!

Even in hard core blue states, people are pissed! The Empty Suit has ****ed things up so bad I think conservatives will crawl outa the wood work to retire this POS!

I think we could run a Dog Catcher and beat this guy at this point! If ya look at every poll, which seem to be highly skewed to the left in their sampling, he's losin' his ass! They can't even load their polls and make him get 50%!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!
